Hotel Comments: Nice hotel room...more like an apartment. Spacious and very homey. Friendly staff. Gym has old machines and a free weights.

Dining Comments: Mayflower Pub next to hotel has great pancakes and inexpensive too! Also 1 block there is a place called Dunn where you can get a full hot breakfast for $3.50 and its open all night.

Entertainment Comments: Take a walk or hike weather permitting. Venture out. There are plenty of things to do around the hotel

Hotel Comments: Hotel is a bit dated, old fashioned metal keys. TV is not in bedroom, but the layout of the suite makes up for it. It could stand a reno, but I would much rather stay here then get displaced to our old hotel.

Dining Comments: Didn't try the hotel restaurant, but Mayflower Pub next door has an excellent and reasonably priced breakfast. Left out the hotel to Elgin street and there are tons of places to eat, to the left a few blocks is MacLaren's with pool tables, TV's, pitchers and food.

Entertainment Comments: Large canal a few blocks from hotel (same one most van drivers drive along) has lots going on when its frozen over, and has really nice running/biking trails. Hotel has a free shuttle service to a casino if you ask the front desk, but I haven't taken advantage of it. Overall one of my favorite overnights now.

Hotel Comments: As others have mentioned this is an older hotel reminiscent of late 80's design. However, they are APARTMENTS! People who travel with their own food will love the kitchen. Outdoor patio is nice too. The in-room wireless internet is unreliable; kept getting kicked off the first night and next day worked ok. Not the worst hotel in the system as previously mentioned. This is a great location and very safe to go walking around at night.

Dining Comments: Several restaurants and pubs nearby and on Elgin St. Take a left out of the hotel then a right at the first light.

Entertainment Comments: Pubs, river walk paths for running and biking, tour historic parliament buildings.

Hotel Comments: Hotel needs a serious renovation!! How do you NOT have a TV that is viewable from the bed? In order to watch the pathetic 20 something inch TV you have to sit on a small, nasty, smelly couch. The location is GREAT, but this is my least favorite hotel in the system.

Dining Comments: Tons of places very near by.

Entertainment Comments: Lots to do within walking distance.

Hotel Comments: Location nice. Hotel needs some serious renovation and updating! No TV in bedroom. Have to go in living room and sit on couch and watch a small television. Does come equipped with a little kitchen along with plates and utensils.

Dining Comments: Its downtown. Lots of places!

Entertainment Comments: Seems like every time I am there. There is something going on. Festival, art show, concert etc...

Hotel Comments: Nice hotel, great location, wireless internet for free (they give you a password) or you can use business center for crew members; ask at the lobby, you will get your own key

Dining Comments: Everywhere

Entertainment Comments: Go out, go to Capitol Hill, a lot of things to do
August 17, 2008
Hotel Comments: The hotel is as described in the other reviews. I couldn't get free internet though. Had to pay for the Ottawa WIFI service $10/24 hrs

Dining Comments: Cornerstone Bar & Grill on Clarence street. The food is OK too. There is a 24 hr diner near the hotel as well.

Entertainment Comments: Parliament, monuments, shopping, river walk, boat cruises, bike rentals. Tons of restaurants and bars.

Hotel Comments: Great location! our rooms in tower are very quiet.

Dining Comments: A lot of places, everything very close, it's one of the best overnights we have.

Entertainment Comments: Go to see Capitol Hill it's only 8 min walk; very beautiful place.

Hotel Comments: Old hotel but not bad.

Dining Comments: Everywhere.

Entertainment Comments: We rented biked and rode long the river and crossed into French Quebec... had a nice time enjoying the buildings and summer weather. Watched a movie at the mall and enjoyed dinner at a French restaurant. Nice overnight.

Hotel Comments: Older style hotel. Still uses old, metal keys, no electronic key cards, except for the gym??? Tons of amenities in the suites. Double dual pane patio window helps keep it warm and quite inside.

Dining Comments: Friendly pub right next door, but I didn't check out the food.

Entertainment Comments: Left turn out door and immediate right gets you to the Canadian capitol's parliamentary buildings, the river, and many local bars/Irish pubs...

Hotel Comments: Nice, but dated. Feels like an apartment rather than a hotel.

Dining Comments: TONS of places. Head to the Marketplace District. Exit front of hotel, turn left to main road. Turn right and head towards WWII memorial (big statue in the middle of the road, can't miss it). Bear to the right and you will come to a mall on the right (huge indoor mall), the Bay company will be on the left. Open marketplace is one street behind the Bay Company. Lots of good restaurants and bars. Hard Rock Cafe is also there.

Entertainment Comments: Head to the Marketplace District. Lots to do and see. Open air market with lots of vendors.

Hotel Comments: All the rooms are suites, with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, stove, living room, dinning area, and a bed room. Overall, the hotel is not bad, but it is need of some renovations because the rooms are dated and feel old. Besides that, the hotel location is great!! Located right in the heart of everything, unlike the Southway. It's all about location with this hotel! Walk out of the hotel and to left at the light is where all the restaurants, bars, etc are located and to the right is where the Parliment buildings, etc are located. If you have a long overnight and the weather is nice, this is a great place.

Dining Comments: There are a million places to choose from. Everything from small pizza places, steak houses, bars, pubs, outdoor cafe, etc. The "main" street is full of choices.

Entertainment Comments: There are tons of things to do around the hotel within walking distance.
April 20, 2008
Hotel Comments: Suite is like a one bedroom apartment. Full kitchenette, living dining combo, bath, and queen bedroom. Four nice size rooms. Many places to eat, drink within just a few blocks. Multicultural foods, most places have store fronts that open for outdoor or open air seating. People are out and about most of the night (can be noisy with patio door open). Overall I like this place and hope we keep it.

Dining Comments: Within just a few blocks there is Mid Eastern, Pub restaurants, Irish, pizza, sushi, Mcd's, and lots more to choose from.

Entertainment Comments: People watching. Many out and about from rags to riches.
April 18, 2008
Hotel Comments: Cute little hotel, nothing special. Coffee in the morning. My room had a full kitchen, living room.

Dining Comments: Hotel's right downtown. Left out of the hotel the main street is where everything is on. We went left again and found two restaurant/bar places a few blocks down that had outside seating -the weather was awesome. There were plenty more places we could have checked out.

Entertainment Comments: Plenty to see within walking distance. Uphill on the main drag is the parliament district with plenty of classic buildings. Supposedly there's a mall within walking distance, across the river to the right out of the hotel.
