Hotel Comments: Great clean, modern rooms.....beats The El Faro without a doubt. Front desk staff is friendly..& Bar staff,...the best!

Dining Comments: Go to 1867 for dinner, or the strip mall...& enjoy the bakery & pizza place(they have pasta dishes as well)for a quick, good, inexpensive meal

Entertainment Comments: Hang by the pool......or take a walk down the hill & watch the surfers. Rental cars are approx.$20.00 for the day

Hotel Comments: Hotel is spotless, everything works in room, free internet. I found the staff very friendly esp. at reception. Had no problems with van service to store and crash boat. We can't use the cooler by the pool, but can keep it on the terrace - they make everyone do this. If you have any problems, ask to speak to the manager, he is a nice guy and will help you out. Avoid their restaurant as their staff is the rudest of anywhere I have flown to in the world. The bar staff is awesome and are so friendly and nice to crews. They rock!

Dining Comments: Coffee shop in lobby has great empanadas. 1867 is a great restaurant, on Tuesdays it is 2 entrees for price of 1. Great happy hour deals at the Palapa behind the hotel as well. Pizza place and bakery are fine and inexpensive.

Entertainment Comments: walk down to the surfers beach, crawl around the caves and beach area, lay out by the pool or get the shuttle to crashboat. If you rent a car its around $20 then you can go explore beautiful areas around Rincon, some really nice beaches.

Hotel Comments: Nice hotel, the staff has changed a lot since the new manager has trained them. The front desk manager said to my face that we spend no money there and that the cooler will go away. Issues with van to Crash Boat Beach. The pool area is really nice. Overall great hotel with a horrible staff. I have never complained about a hotel staff member before until now. One lady was very rude to all crew members. If you buy beer from the front desk it will cost you $17.00 for a 6pack.

Dining Comments: Pizza place across the street. It's really good.

Entertainment Comments: Crash Boat Beach, I don't recommend the mall.

Hotel Comments: Have been to the hotel twice. once in June and once in October. The hotel was practically empty. It seems it's only us and the border patrol. Maybe 1 family with 1 or 2 kids, during both times. was not a big kid festival!!! Bartender at the casino bar was very friendly to us. (the entire crew) Rooms are clean, free internet and great t.v. if you plan on staying in your room. vVan driver drove us to the supermarket where we bought snacks, alcohol etc...our entire crew hung out at the pool ALL day and had a wonderful time. It's all what you make of it...

Dining Comments: 1867 The Italian place The bakery in the strip mall.

Entertainment Comments: Nothing if you want!!! What a perfect layover!!!

Hotel Comments: Great hotel. Beats the El Faro hands down. This is a no brainer. Hotel is spotless, brand new and everything works (i.e. internet and a/c)! Will take you to crash boat beach. Seniors have nothing to do about moving from the El Faro. It was the most complained about hotel in the system. Give this new place a chance. They really want our business and are willing to work with the crews to accommodate us.

Dining Comments: The strip mall has a bakery and a decent cheap Italian/local flavor restaurant. 1867 is also great with a great view and sunset happy hour.

Entertainment Comments: Pool, path down to the beach (much easier going down than up, do not wear flip flops).

Hotel Comments: I want the El Farro back. Thanks a lot to the senior's that got the hotel changed to this hotel!

Dining Comments: O.k.

Entertainment Comments: Pool only

Hotel Comments: Casino just opened. They had NO rooms available for the crew. Wanted us to double up. Finally got rooms that they had no keys for. They unlocked doors for us to get in but expected us not to leave our rooms. Was a real mess! Kids are everywhere, the casino is small and nothing to get excited about. Good restaurant close by.

Dining Comments: 1867....good food . Two meals for $20 bucks during week. Try the crab dip. Yummy!

Entertainment Comments: Try out the new casino just don't order a drink....the bar is very expensive $$$$

Hotel Comments: Hotel van will not take you anywhere not even to crash boat. They have a new policy!!!!

Dining Comments: Hotel

Entertainment Comments: Play at Pool.

Hotel Comments: New hotel, really nice but is not near or convenient to anything. Although the hotel van will run you to Crash Boat Beach and the Wild life beach (Note: Wildlife Beach is not for the timid...) there is not a lot within walking distances. Hotel rooms are very nice clean and spacious. There is a bar in the lobby but No Happy Hour and will eventually have a Casino with all the bells and whistles and other noise and problems that come with it. The Pool is geared more towards kids... It comes with a huge kids water jungle gem in the center. So those of you who love to hang out by the pool and listen to 20 or more kids screaming, splashing, and just running a muck then you're in luck. There is a restaurant at the hotel and crews get 10% off. Breakfast buffet runs $12.50 with the discount. Food is typical Marriott/hotel. (Remember that at El Faro near Crash Boat Crews got two days of free hot breakfast) Area around the Marriott is more residential, and it's not recommended to walk around the streets after dark. I sure it can only get better when the Casino opens...

Dining Comments: Behind the Marriott there is the El Faro Suites hotel that has a nice Restaurant called th 1863 that is really good. There is a bakery in a strip mall within walking distance that's not bad for a cheap meal ex; sandwich or pastry. Other than that, I found no other places within walking distance.

Entertainment Comments: Van to Crash Boat Beach, Rent a car... $25 at Dollar Rental, there is a sports bar within walking distances of Marriott near the bakery although I don't recommend it. Take the van over to El Faro near Crash Boat beach for Happy Hour (great drink specials). There are also two other bars and a club within a short walk of Crash Boat. Snorkel gear can be rented near Crash boat for $10. There is Jobo beach which has more restaurants bars and clubs a short drive if you can get a ride... If you can then there I recommend the Bamboo Beach Club, and Happy Bellies
