Hotel Comments: Overall a pretty good hotel. The rooms seem a bit dated but not too bad, only thing I hate are those darn Sleep Number beds! There is free wireless throughout the hotel, but has some issues on some floors where it keeps going in and out. There's also a free business center on the lobby floor and a small Starbucks store there as well. The staff was very nice and friendly. It's about a 20 minute van ride from the airport (we use a transportation company, not the hotel shuttle). The hotel has a shuttle that they run to the Mall of America, just ask the front desk for details. If you have an overnight here in the winter, you better make sure you pack something that will keep you warm because it gets brutal cold in this area!

Dining Comments: The hotel has a restaurant with crew discount. There are lots of places within walking distance to get some food, drinks, etc. If you go out the side exit of the hotel and walk like 3 blocks down to 6th Street and make a left (pedestrians only, no vehicles) you'll find Jimmy Johns, Great Waters Brewery, some Italian place, Subway, another sandwich shop. There's also a diner a few blocks from the hotel with very good food, but it's very small because it's an old rail dinning car. Just walk up to 7th Street, make a left and you'll see it about a block away. There are also other places to eat, drink, etc. about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. Go out of hotel and take a right onto Kellogg and walk down to the intersection of Kellogg and 7th Street, you'll find many more places there as well.

Entertainment Comments: Macy's right by the hotel. The Science Museum, Imax Theatre. Take the hotel shuttle to the Mall of America.

Hotel Comments: I love this overnight any time of year! The Skywalk makes all of downtown St. Paul accessible even when it's 8*F outside. It connects to the hotel on the Ballroom floor. From there you can walk anywhere, there are plenty of shops throughout, even a little mall.

Dining Comments: Two places to recommend. 1) Great Waters Brewery. http://www.greatwatersbc.com/ The food is OK, a little overpriced for the quality you get, but they make up for it with some GREAT beer. It's located one block away from the Macy's which is accessible by the Skywalk. The brewery claims to be located at the site of the original St. Paul's Cathedral. They draw their water for brewing from a well that is located there on site, ie Great Waters. They always have four brews on tap that are cask conditioned, so for those of you that like your beer light and ice cold they also have a great assortment of CO2 pressured American beer. Their cask conditioned IPA is the greatest IPA I've ever tasted. 2) Mickey's Diner. http://www.mickeysdiningcar.com/ Great food! The place is almost exactly how it was when it was first placed there, and the ingredients haven't changed since before WWII. The juke box is the only thing that doesn't work. Great great food, sit at the bar and you won't have to pay a $3 table fee.

Entertainment Comments: When the weather is fair, a run along the river is great. Tour the Capital, it's only about 8 minutes away.

Hotel Comments: Very nice hotel, nice staff, good location. Only complaint, some rooms still have the sleep number beds. Hate those things.

Dining Comments: Lots around, see previous posts. However, if, like me you hate the cold and don't want to go out, hit the hotel bar M-F 4-6 and 9-11pm. Happy hour 2-4-1 beers. The best burger you'll find for $4. Grilled bun, cooked to order, homemade chips, pickle and coleslaw. Can't beat it.

Entertainment Comments: Average fitness center. Run by the river if you don't mind the cold in the winter.

Hotel Comments: Nice hotel and staff.

Dining Comments: Subway and other deli/sandwich place a block down the street. Probably more places, but we didn't want to go to far since it was a little cold. There is a restaurant and lounge in the hotel. Decent happy hour.

Entertainment Comments: Mall of America shuttle leaves at 2 pm and picks you up at 6 p.m. It's about 15 miles away.

Hotel Comments: Best Bet on a Weekend--$5.00 cab ride to Grand Street tell him to drop you off at the Wild Onion or Billy's. Worth every pennies in cab fare $5 to 7 for fare. On the weekend Grand St. Is packed, decent beer prices. Do the Cab if you got the crew or not (say this-"Grand St. by Billy's) And you are Golden. Beer women and crowd, You will enjoy!! Free Internet (not wireless) at hotel

Dining Comments: Take the side road to the right out of the hotel you will find a shopping center on the right and a row of bars/restaurants on the left along with a grocery store that sells Beer (on right up a block). You Fast food -Jimmy Johns -Wilds Restaurant -Some Itailan joint one to (forgot name) but good happy hour -Vendors Shopping -Macy's

Entertainment Comments: Science Museum down the main Street about 2block IMAX (take a right down main street.) Cant miss it. Imax show for $7. Otherwise go to Grand street (small cab fare, Great TIME!) Gym kidda sucks Pool is huge jogging is a running mans dream following the river. (Great Path) You want beer, women and cheap drinks...spend the $5 CAB RIDE UP TO Grand St. GOOD LUCK
