Hotel Comments: -----------GOLDS GOLDS GYM. Hotel is a little old and rooms are small, but nice bed, pillows and comforter. Wireless Golds is 5 min down the street if you're a member. GREAT location.

Dining Comments: I got Subway right down the street from the hotel, but there are tons of places around

Entertainment Comments: Eat work out go out

Hotel Comments: If you need to store food in the fridge, the bell staff will refrigerate your food for you. I had them refrigerate my cheese and brats that I bought at the cheese market and Usingers.

Dining Comments: Quizno's closed down before the summer of 2009. There is a Subway restaurant located on the same street. Also in the mall, they do have a food court and a fruit/vegetable stand. On the same street as The Brat House there are several restaurants and bar/pubs. Across the street from The Brat House is Usingers...that is where they make the brats. Next door to Usingers, is the cheese market. Now you can get your brat and cheese curd fix.

Entertainment Comments: You are downtown MKE, there is so much to do. All you have to do is ask the hotel staff and they will help you out.

Hotel Comments: Definitely second the comments on thin walls. Other than that, the hotel feels like stepping back in time to the 40s. A lot of the art deco design touches and visual interest are still in place without feeling rundown or outdated at all. Made me wish I had packed a grey suit, skinny tie and a fedora. Gym is fairly decent (typical updated Hilton brand) with 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a bike or two, free weights and a cable tower. There is a bar and a restaurant in the hotel for those of you that are less adventurous and we get a discount (10-15% if I remember).

Dining Comments: Unless its 30 below and blowing snow, do NOT let your crew talk you into staying at the hotel bar! There are TONS of cool bars and pubs a short walk around the hotel. I went out and wandered the morning before we left and it seemed like it didn't matter what direction you went there were restaurants and pubs everywhere. Go towards the River Walk, it seems like there was a concentration of good things there and within a block or two of the river. A good town for a pub crawl.

Entertainment Comments: There is a waterpark in the hotel. Sign said they charged $13 to get in, don't know if there's a crew discount or not. There was some shopping around the river walk area if you're into that. All in all, a great town for a pub crawl and a hangover.

Hotel Comments: They remodeled the Gym it has everything. Lots of various cardio machines and free weights. The front desk also said you could run 1 mile to the lake and there is a trail along the lake

Dining Comments: Safe House is a fun place to eat/drink

Entertainment Comments: none

Hotel Comments: Great hotel, nice and clean

Dining Comments: Just down the street there are 8 good restaurants.

Entertainment Comments: Safe House, great bar to have a beer in. Ask the front desk they will give you directions. Its about a 10 min walk or a 7 dollar cab ride

Hotel Comments: Nice hotel from the looks of it on the inside. The hotel is old and therefore, the walls are paper thin. You can here your neighbors on either side turn over in their beds. Its definitely the worst I've ever experienced in terms of hearing noises and your neighbors.

Dining Comments: Bar down stairs...

Entertainment Comments: Shopping center down the road, Quizno's up the road

Hotel Comments: Nice downtown hotel. Rooms a little small but nice. Mall 2 blocks away.

Dining Comments: Milwaukee Brats (about 1/2mile up 3rd, short walk). Cool hole-in-the-wall type pub. Apparently was closed for a while, just re-opened by 2 good guys. Great brat, great onion strings, good local beer selection *got chatting with the owners, they said "15% CREW DISCOUNT w/ID" so check it out.

Entertainment Comments: Go to a Brewers game or take the Miller Brewing Tour, $10 cab ride, pretty cool.

Dining Comments: Mo's Irish Pub just a quick 5 blocks down from the hotel toward the lake. Open till 2am for drinks on a Sunday!!!

Entertainment Comments: Go and see the Milwaukee Art museum - it is a beautiful building. http://www.mam.org

Hotel Comments: Nice Hotel, real fancy, nice beds, free internet.

Dining Comments: Couple of blocks away is a good little sports bar with some real good Wisconsin bratwurst.

Entertainment Comments: TOUR THE MILLER BREWERY! It's really interesting, AND you get free beer! Best Miller Lite I've ever had.... Also, a few blocks from the hotel is Moe's Irish Pub, I wish I could tell you more about it, but I don't remember leaving / getting back to the hotel....

Hotel Comments: The rooms are small, but the beds are nice. The lobby is fancy, I like the way it looks.

Dining Comments: There are quite a few places nearby, ate at a Mexican place that was pretty cheap. I can't remember the name, though.

Entertainment Comments: We went to the Miller Brewery for the tour and free beer. Then we walked back to the hotel, stopping at bars on the way. Next thing I knew, I woke up in my hotel room.

Hotel Comments: previous gauge is good.

Dining Comments: quiznos on block down the street

Entertainment Comments: whimpy gym with cardio and one multimachine
October 19, 2007
Hotel Comments: Hotel is old but charming. Old hotel that has been updated but still has old architecture. Overall, nice hotel.

Dining Comments: The CAFE downstairs in the hotel and tons of other places within walking distance all around the hotel. If you're looking to have breakfast, make sure you get there before 11am cause it seems like every place in MKE stops serving breakfast at 11am on the dot for some reason.

Entertainment Comments: Plenty of things to do and see. Just ask the front desk. Hotel is very centrally located.
August 7, 2007
Hotel Comments: Hotel is old, in a charming, historic sort of way. Walls are paper-thin; however. If you're not out early in the morning, I'd highly...highly suggest earplugs. You hear every voice, door closing, etc, and the air conditioner is very quiet, so it doesn't provide adequate "white noise". Internet is free. It has a very strong, reliable signal the night I was there, but it wasn't working the next morning. I had to upload some files that evening and had no problem transferring about 100MB (took about 18 minutes).

Dining Comments: We ate at the Miller Pub in the downstairs of the hotel. The beer is reasonably priced and the soup + half sandwich is the best deal ($4.50, I think).

Entertainment Comments: Didn't venture out.
August 6, 2007
Hotel Comments: Hotel is old but well kept. There are only a few channels on the TV. The beds are ok. To get the free wireless, you have to get the password from the hotel desk. I found the wireless to be slow and unreliable though.

Dining Comments: There are several places in and near the hotel that seem ok. Lot's of options.

Entertainment Comments: Ride the #31 bus out to the Miller Brewery. The tour is free, and they give you three beers! http://www.ridemcts.com/
February 23, 2007
Hotel Comments: Commute from MKE. Heard the Hotel was great!

Dining Comments: the SAFEHOUSE! Its about a mile from the hotel, and I'm sure any cab will know where its at. check out www.safe-house.com to get directions. Its got a whole spy theme, James Bond/ Get Smart theme to it. Tons of fun. Right about the same prices as a TGI Fridays, with a TON more ambiance!

Entertainment Comments: Go To the SAFEHOUSE!!!!!

Hotel Comments: Very nice hotel in the downtown area.

Dining Comments: 2 or 3 in the hotel, and many more right around the hotel.

Entertainment Comments: Not sure yet, too damn cold to venture out.
