Hotel Comments: I could not get any sleep because of the train blowing its horn all night long. It is a noisy hotel. I was so tired the next day because of lack of sleep

Dining Comments: lots of place to in walking distance

Entertainment Comments: lots

Hotel Comments: There is no quite side to this hotel. You will hear the train no matter what side of the hotel you are on. The night staff hotel is very rude and could not care less about helping you out. The hotel is a dump but has made some slight improvements in the cleanliness department.

Dining Comments: If you have time the location is the only good thing about this hotel, you can walk across the river to the casinos and the boardwalk. I would stay away from the any and all food at the hotel.

Entertainment Comments: Casinos

Hotel Comments: Hotel is your typical Holiday Inn but the location is awesome!!

Dining Comments: Lots of down town restaurants and bars. Ask front desk how to get 2 FREE buffet dinners at the Horse Shoe casino across the river.

Entertainment Comments: Very nice river walk with outlet mall, movie theater, lots of down town restaurants and bars, and casinos, all within walking distance or hotel van will be happy to take you.

Hotel Comments: My room had a nice surprise waiting for me in my shower, some ones used bar of soap, even with hair attached. I hope you plan on staying at the horseshoe all night because sleep is something you are not going to get here. The street noise and the frequent train siren through the night will leave you refreshed to fly your 12:00 hr duty day.

Dining Comments: Sign up at the horseshoe for two free buffets. You also have a outdoor mall located across the red river.

Entertainment Comments: Stay on the other side of the river and stay away from the NASTY Holiday Inn

Hotel Comments: This place is a dump. Our rooms face the busy street below and the trains run all night next to your room. Easily the noisiest hotel in the system. Cleanliness is below average, I found dirty towels, carpets, and bathroom marginally clean. I find this hotel unacceptable.

Dining Comments: Sports bar/pub two blocks away, casinos close and the hotel restaurant is ok. Places to eat isn't the problem, it is the noise and the substandard hotel.

Entertainment Comments: Write a nasty note to your hotel committee. We have to get out of this dump. Bring your ear plugs.

Hotel Comments: Tacky

Dining Comments: Some

Entertainment Comments: Tacky casinos
October 18, 2008
Hotel Comments: Not very clean bathrooms. Hotel next to the main railroad tracks and trains run all through the night. Sounds almost like the train is running through your room.

Dining Comments: Not many except in the casinos.

Entertainment Comments: If you like gambling this is the over night for you.

Hotel Comments: The evening shift the last two times I have been here are very surly and could give two craps if your their waiting to check in. They will always stop dealing with you to answer the phone and help them over you. Not answer and place on hold.

Dining Comments: A few places around late in early out.

Entertainment Comments: Watch in amazement that this hotel employees rude people.

Hotel Comments: OK, we all dreamed of a job in transportation but who ever thought that we would be so close to the railroad industry? Well, stay in this hotel and you get a first-hand look at the latest in RR transport! Freight trains right outside your hotel window!!! Wow, I think I am going to buy a Lionel train set when I get home. Sign me up for the railroad. Now I know what it's like to sleep on a train without ever leaving my hotel room!!! The casinos are good, that is if you have more than 12 hours here. Better get to sleep early and try to sleep in between all the noise. When previous reviews said this place was noisy, they were not understating the point. Bring your ear plugs, turn on your air conditioner and your TV to full volume and you might overtake the outside noise. I would like to know who chose this hotel and thank them personally. There are better choices in the area. Let's find them...

Dining Comments: There are some good places. Blind Tiger has a good sandwich. I am sure the casinos have good food and drinks, but I did not make it there this trip. This will be on my list to avoid.

Entertainment Comments: Stay awake and listen to freight trains and road noise.

Hotel Comments: Definitely not one of the best, and if this is the company's idea of an acceptable hotel I disagree. It is downtown and close to some shopping and casinos. The bad part is the hotel itself-it's older with questionable maintenance, poorly built (metal panels below the window are the outside "walls" and is VERY NOISY. Our crews get streetside rooms which hear traffic all night, particularly on weekends. The other side is supposedly worse, right next to train tracks. If a place is so noisy that the air conditioner doesn't drown out the noise I don't see why we stay here. Cleanliness is average.

Dining Comments: Two casinos within walking distance and another across the river. All have good buffets and a range of restaurants inside. The Eldorado has a 24-hour restaurant (Sportsman's Paradise Cafe) that serves everything from breakfast to a $10 steak, and is very good, with cool LCD TV's at the seats. It's only a 10 minute walk away.

Entertainment Comments: If you're here for a while the casinos are fun and there are things to do downtown, just look in the binder in your room. For a short overnight, this place is a noisy waste of time.
February 12, 2008
Hotel Comments: This is now one of the best we got! casinos, bars, strip clubs, and shopping all within walking distance or a quick van ride! Free wireless atm restaurant at the Holiday Inn.

Dining Comments: Hit the Samstown or Elderado casino buffet! Huge! $11.95 at Samstown

Entertainment Comments: Blind Tiger bar and cajun grill- Sun/Wed/Thur are best nights. Stray cats around the corner from Blind Tiger on Monday nights. Larry Flint hustler club a few blocks away. Bass Pro-shop behind the Horseshoe Casino and a Riverwalk mall that is brand new.
January 18, 2008
Hotel Comments: Is it cleaner than the Best Western we used to be at? Yes! Certainly not quieter though, 2 freight trains across the street between 11:30 pm and 5 am; and a very busy intersection outside the window.

Dining Comments: Hotel restaurant is as far as we got. Short overnight.

Entertainment Comments: Not enough time on my first stay, but saw plenty of casinos around the hotel.
December 11, 2007
Hotel Comments: Not bad, rooms look like they were renovated. 15 minute ride from airport.

Dining Comments: Not too much close except for hotel and casinos nearby. Probably some stuff a few blocks away but didn't explore because of short overnight.

Entertainment Comments: Casinos are close if that is your thing, walk or shuttle.
