Hotel Comments: Hotel is not nice at all...kind of dirty... like a step below an American La Quinta.

Dining Comments: Everywhere!!

Entertainment Comments: Location is great in the middle of everything.

Hotel Comments: Nice very modern hotel with comfortable beds and rooms. There are two computers in the Crew Room on First Floor. Use the access codes printed on the small sheets of paper for 15 minutes access. Only problem is blasting the KLM Asia FAs off of the computers! They don't really respect the 15 mins only rule. In room Internet Access is a charged item and not free as noted.

Dining Comments: BBQ Castell is a great place not too far from the hotel and the Rijksmuseum. If you enjoy BBQ ribs, steak, chicken and seafood, give Castell a try. If you have a larger group, call ahead and get the front desk to make a reservation for you especially if you eat a little bit later. BBQ Castell Lijnbaansgracht Amsterdam Netherlands

Entertainment Comments: AMS is a great city with tons of things to see and do. The Albert Cuyp market across the canal from the NH Hotel is a nice place to visit. Vendors selling flowers, cheeses, fruits and veggies and other assorted items. Brasserie Pucky is on Albert Cuypstraat in the market. They have a decent breakfast for 5-6 euros, ie.: Ham and cheese omelet and coffee. The larger flower market is beyond Leidesplein plaza going towards Dam Square and the main RLD. Vondelspark is a beautiful park beyond the Rijksmuseum and it has lots of walking and bike paths, ponds and nice scenery.

Hotel Comments: The hotel is clean and the location is great, but when there are 2 NTA and HTA crews, it sometimes means waiting for rooms for up to 3 hours! The staff used to be much friendlier in past years, but the new people aren't as nice and the hotel has lost that "homey" feel. There is a small gym in the basement with one each of a few pieces of equipment but nothing extensive.

Dining Comments: There is a small pizza/pasta place across the street which has a 5-euro menu if you're looking for cheap eats. Lutje is a few blocks away and has the best steak you'll find in the area (but closed Sundays). Many crews to to Cafe de Klos (which means "to get screwed" only not in a good way!) for ribs. De Knijp is a nice cozy place that is open until 12:30 if you want a late bite. There are lots of nice places to eat. Some are pricier than others.

Entertainment Comments: Museums galore. The Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are both around the corner. The Anne Frank House is a bit farther but worth a visit. Canal tours by boat, city tours by bike. AlbertCuyp Street Market open daily except Sundays.
