Interview experience:

There are three stages in the interview At America West Headquarters in Tempe. The first day there is an open house to tell about the benifits and requirements. There is an 8 week training in phoenix and the pay is $20 a day. Not bad concidering most airlines do not pay anything for training. They do not provide accomidations, but i think that is because they are hiring only for phoenix and so you should probably live there or move there anyway. The next day starts at 8 in the morning. This is the time to fill out the application, then they look it over and ask you why you want to be a flight attendant, if you meet the qualifications they set an interview time for you for the following day. The qualifications include being able to lift 35lbs, and 2 years face to face high volume customer service experience. The third day is the appointment, it involves a 9 question interview. The questions are situational and require a specific response, including the outcomes, ie, explain a time you encountered someone not following the safety policy and what did you do about it. The answers and application and resume are forwarded to personell where they make the call. If hired they notify in 7 to 10 days.
