Interview experience:
I applied for a position with Mesa Air after seeing an ad in a local paper that they were seeking flight attendants. Within a week of applying, I was sent an email invitation to attend one of their Open House Interviews. Dressing in my most professional suit, I arrived at the location specified in on the website 30 minutes early. The doors didn't open until 15 minutes before the interview began. Upon collecting everyone's invitations and signing in, the two Mesa reps conducting the interview began telling everyone a bit about the company, what they were looking for in a flight attendant, benefits, training dates etc. It took about an hour. Once they finished, they offered a 15 minute break and an opportunity for those not interested to leave if it was not the opportunity for them. After the break, we were brought back in for the group interviews. We were all asked to state our name, why we wanted to be a flight attendant and why we would be an asset to Mesa Air. Then we were each asked 3 individual questions that ranged from silly to safety-oriented. When the group interviews were over, we were sent into the lobby for approximately 20 minutes while the Mesa reps determined who they wanted back for a 2nd interview immediately. I was one of those called back. It wasn't really a second interview though. They wanted to know which domicile I wanted, verified my SS# and other pertinent information and told me I would be hearing from them one way or another shortly. Shortly was 2 days. I got the phone call inviting me to training two days after my interview. Although I'd never attended a group interview in my life, it was no different than any other interview I'd been in. Dress professionally (for Pete's sake--people showed up in blue jeans), smile and be yourself. Don't copy other people's answers, be original, and be confident.
