Interview experience:
I found an ad for DTW based flight attendants on CareerBuilder.com and submitted my resume. The ad listed an open house to attend at a hotel at DTW with three different times to attend. I chose to attend the last interview of the day at 6pm, because I was driving from out of town. At the hotel, there was a meeting room filled with tables and chairs, set up much like a classroom, with a screen and projector in the front of the room. Of course, always sit in the front and begin to talk to the other candidates. There were about 15-20 of us in the room. Sitting at the front of the room were two recruiters, two in-flight managers and four flight attendants. USA3000 CEO, Angus Kinnear, was also present. They introduced themselves and did a nice presentation on the company and the profile of the position. Very nice company, organized, pay is well, they give you your uniforms, no reserve schedules. They then had half of the room stay and half go into another meeting room and each person stood in the front of the room, introduced themselves, said what their current job is and something interesting about themselves. Then you had to chose an announcement and read it. After this, a short break was taken and everyone returned to the original room. They called the names of four people they wanted to stay for one-on-one interviews. Everyone else was asked to leave. We were given quite a bit of paperwork to fill out and taken into another room to interview with a panel of two people. This could be a recruiter and a flight attendant, a flight attendant and the CEO, or any combination. They ask why you want to leave your current position (remember, don't say anything negative) and why you want to work for USA3000. They asked me what flight comes to mind immediately for me and I think I answered a lot of their following situational questions in the answer to that question. They ask how far you live from the airport, you must live or have arrangements to be within 2 hours of the airport for days you might be on call. Please remember to dress professionally and wear your hair up. I was called about a week and a half after my interview and told to expect a package in the mail with all the information I need and a request for a drug test. Training is held in Charlotte, NC for four weeks and they provide your flight to and from. Wonderful people, wonderful company. I can't wait to start training!
