Interview experience:

Overall impression with the process and interview experience was negative, hostile a good description that others have used. Since I do not think I met the profile of what COEX is looking for in their new hires, the interview had a distinctly negative flavor. My experience would confirm what I’ve read in postings on some other boards… that COEX is looking to hire a relatively young pilot force that will stick with COEX for 2 to 3 years because they will not have the requisites to move up/out before that (young working CFIs with around 1000 TT and little if any TP time). ADMIN. There were about 12 in my group: In addition to me, one Army (UH-60 w/low FW); one Navy (1500 RW and 1500 C-12); one FO on furlough from CorpEX; one female CFI w/700 TT; the rest all working CFIs. I was the oldest, by far, as average age (taking me out of the stats) was probably mid-20s (know at least one candidate offered a position was 22). At precisely 0800, John Dresser, a female jet CPT named Alisha and a jet CPT named John entered the room. Concerted attempt to NOT put the crowd at ease or warm-up to us. Mr. Dresser covered all the paperwork, never made eye contact. On the grid, SE broken down my manufacturer (all Cessna, all Piper, etc)
