Great People! Eight month process for me from initial grip & grin with Tracy Takara in Jan 04. Updated her on my desire to fly for HP when I had significant news (737 type). Finally got an application in May, quick turned the app via overnight mail, and was called 8 weeks later (July 04) for an August interview from Tiffany. I knew 2 pilots at HP and I’m sure each one of them did what they could to help speed the process. Flew out on America West Express. HP puts you as an SA4B Space Available ticket at no cost to you. HP will give you a web site address where you can check the passenger loads for the flight you are listed on – important as HP flight loads change a lot (so think about a back up flight). My flight was completely full but I got the last seat and they turned away other SA travelers. There was a note in my reservation that said I was coming for a Pilot candidate interview and don’t know if that was a factor in my selection for the last seat. Arrived the day before my K&S sim prep and settled into my hotel. All other previous gouge on K&S and the sim prep is accurate and I strongly recommend the prep (Ralph Bledsoe did a great job).
