Interview experience:
Gene Smith with Cape Air responded almost immediately, asking me to complete their company ap, which I did right then. This company cares about its employees, and that shows even before you become an employee. Gene took care of my travel arrangements from Boston and accomodations in Hyannis. And they reimburse you for your flight there. Everyone I came in contact with seemed to love their job. It is a great work environment. The interview: there were two of us there today. The first thing we did was meet with Steve Phillips for a brief tour and for him to go over basics: compensation, bennies, hours, commitment req's. Then he split us up. The HR portion consisted of several questions/scenarios, a few of which are: Why Cape Air? Describe an incident of conflict and how you resolved it. Pet peeve? Lineman gives bad signals, how do you handle it? Your gear is stuck down, do you take another trip? As a passenger on a Cape Air flight, you observe the capt. behaving counter to op specs, what do you do? If you are up all night with sick spouse/kid and have duty next day, what do you do? Would you help load bags, call passengers if necessary? How would you handle a passenger freaking out over lightning, turbulence, whatever?
