Interview experience:
There were two days of interviews that week and two scheduled for the next week. There were 12 people in my group. Everyone knew someone and had there stuff walked in. They said they have about 5000 resumes on file already. They start with HR Jill Nidifer talking about the plans for expansion, upgrade time around one year, and what it is like to work for Airtran. Very nice group of interviewers. They tell you upfront that everyone in the room will be hired unless you prove to them that day that you shouldn't be there. Plans are to get around twenty new 717's this year alone. They have 36 cities now and should have around 66 by this time next year. Major expansion plans out BWI as Metrojet is pulling out. BWI should be the next crew base. They are out looking for a larger a/c right now for more range. They said they are not wed to the 717. First year is 35.50 and goes to 37.50 on 4/1/02. Second year captain is 93.00. Top 12 year captain at end of contract in 04 is around 152.50. If they get a larger plane there is a 13% pay increase for a large narrowbody, and 28% hig
