Interview experience:
Overall:
The TSA personnel is very freindly and helpful, much more so than the other airline interviews I've been to, heard about. They need pilots, and will help you out on the sim check and on the oral questions. They said this same attitude carries into training. If you're attitude is good, they'll help you make it through the interview and the training. ATTITUDE!
Sim Prep:
I did the sim prep at Outer Marker the night before. I recommend it, even if you're very experienced, if just to make the sim check less stressful. There was one guy in our group that didn't do it, but he had 4000+ helo hours, including some very intense rescues, so I think his confidence level was high and his stress level about 0 (there aren't any 50' waves and hurricane force winds during the sim check). He had no problems with the check. One guy (who did the prep) failed his checkride. He was actively flying 135, but almost all VFR.
Process:
There were about 10 or so pilots, all male. About half were CFIs with about 700 hours and mininal ME experience. There were 2 or 3 guys who flew multiengine 135. There were two military guys.
