Interview experience:
Like everyone else says, the previous gouges go a long way toward preparing you for this interview. XJT knows they're out there and expects everyone to have read them, and they don't seem to mind. One of their directors came by the waiting room in the morning and was joking about how we all probably knew exactly what was going to be asked. His comment was that while they obviously look for a decent level of competency in the interview, they're more concerned with getting good employees, ones that are trainable, regardless of the number of hours or whether they were CFI, 135, or 121. He said they have good success with low-time people because they work so hard in training. Our class was about 50/50 121 and CFI, some of the CFIs with a lot less than 1000 hrs. After 3-hour wait (bring a snack, and do your best to relax and chat with the other people waiting), first room was systems: KNOW the aircraft you fly now inside and out, weights, capacities, limitations, the works.
