Interview experience:
First off, thanks to all who post on this site. Pilot’s taking care of pilots, we’re all in this together. I’m two for two now WRT airline interviews and used this site both times successfully. Much hasn’t changed, but I would like to add my .02 cents and give some other pieces of info/observations.
My sponsor first knocked on ACP’s door in June. I did not go up there to meet and great. He was told by ACP that that wasn’t necessary, which surprised the hell out of me!! I am convinced that networking is the key and the more ‘valuable’ online recs you have, the better you are, especially if they flew with you. Was called in Dec for Jan interview, had weeks to study. KD offered a few dates, and I chose one, to allow me to get ready. The main contributing factor how I got an interview (I think/my opinion) was due to my online recs and my sponsor. I had about ten online recs, about 8 or so I flew with. My sponsor was persistent with the ACP. (My sponsor now also has a big bottle of gin). I also had a few of the online rec guys stop in and put a plug in for me with the ACP. They have 12K applications on file, you need to fight for this interview. I can’t thank those guys enough.
