Interview experience:
Interview was just as previous gouges have stated. The ATP written and mechanical aptitude test are combined into one (answered on the same sheet). I didn't study an asvab before going in because I had heard that the mech apt test was easy, common sense type stuff. That was true. The questions that I can remember were: a tank is filling with water at 180gph while a drain is letting out 2gpm, how long will it take to add 60 gallons to the tank; three balloons contain the same amount of gas, one small, one medium, one large, which one has the least pressure acting on the outside of it; four pictures of levers under a weight with the fulcrum at different locations, which one has the most mechanical advantage; a weight hooked to 3 pulleys with 100lbs of force pulling on the rope, what is the most weight that can be lifted; a larger 15 tooth gear is meshed with a smaller 10 tooth gear, if the large gear is turning at 200rpm how fast is the small gear turning; an emb leaves abc @ 240kts, 2 hours later a crj leaves abc at 480kts, both headed for the same destination, how long before the crj catches the emb; four gears of the same size meshed together in sort of a pyramid shape, if the top one turns this way which one(s) will turn
