Interview experience:
The recent previous gouges are really very accurate, however, since there hasn’t been one posted in over a month I figured I would post my experience to reassure anyone who is interviewing that the process has not changed. First and foremost, it is VERY low key. Don’t get me wrong---be professional, courteous, etc, etc, but don’t worry that it is going to be a confrontational experience because it isn’t. There were 7 guys interviewing on my day---2 corporate guys, 3 guys furloughed from the majors (including one who had previously worked for ASA), 1 guy who was flying B-1900s in Alaska, and myself, a current 121 freight hauler. First day we met at the FSI building at 1300 and had a briefing from one of their sim instructors about the ATR. He handed out the approach plate for the MGM (that’s Montgomery, Alabama) ILS 10 and gave us some figures for power settings. Just remember that 40% torque will hold 180 knots. If you can do that, you can pretty much just fiddle around with it and figure out other power settings from there.
