Interview experience:
All previous gouge is right on the money. Check out of the LaQuinta at 1130 ($40). ATA Van arrives around 1145 and takes you to ATA headquarters. There were six in my group in order of flight time: 1. Furlough Airline 727 Driver now Corporate (Citation Excel) 2. Airline MD-80 Captian. 3. A300 Freight Operator. 4. Furlough Airline 737 Driver now Fractional (Citation X). 5. Corporate (Citation Ultra / Falcon 50). 6. Military KC135. All of us were taken to a conference room to fill out paper work. 10 year work history, 2 year training contract ($24,000 pro-rated @ $1000/month if you leave before 2 years), FAA records release, NDR, Drug Release, etc…and a sim-profile for later that evening. They tell you to relax that you’re not in competition with each other, “we want to hire all of you, you’re just here to show us that you don’t want the job, so relax (yeah right).” Very tactful statement, but not believable. Also, they had us take off our jackets, either to see how look under the jacket or to relax…I’m not sure. Then a local Chief Pilot (Mike Gerdes) gives a talk about pay, benefits, etc…and answers questions. After
