You didn't ask for my advice, but if you did, this is what I'd offer.Following is my lengthy discourse on getting hired with jetBlue, from the perspective of a military retiree who got a whole lot more interviews than offers, but eventually landed with a major airline. You've likely seen/heard much of
this already (from me), so feel free to skim, delete or pitch the whole thing out.
1. Get and stay informed. Your primary source of info will likely be AIR, Inc. They've pretty well monopolized the market, but there are a number of other outfits that you should consider for augmenting your store of knowledge. I recommend the Berliner Aviation Group Group. They have an admittedly smaller store of detailed hiring info, but what Paul Berliner lacks in minutiae, he makes up for in opinion. And his no-holds-barred
comments alone are worth the price of membership. On several occasions, I asked him "What do you think...?" questions, and got more candid answers than AIR, Inc. can give (because they can't afford to offend the employers who supply the info that is AIR, Inc.'s stock in trade).
