Actual Pilot Interview Experience for ExpressJet

11 interviewed - 4 hired; two young guys and two old guys (me included). No idea on the flight times... people tended to keep that pretty close to the vest. I was retired Air Force (non-flying) and the other older guy was retired Army (non-flying). All of us were CFIs, but the Army guy was flying night freight. One of the young guys was doing some light charter work. Contrary to what I've seen posted, there were no obvious losers in our group - I would've hired any one of them at our flight school and would have been happy to fly with them all. There wasn't a single person that you could even guess wouldn't make it through the first interview. My first interview consisted of the usual "why Coex?" stuff along with the technical quiz: What's a VDP and how do you compute it? What is Vmc - not VMC - and how does it work? What is P-factor and how would you teach it? When would you hold at the critical ILS hold line if there was no tower or ATIS telling you to? No Jepp questions.
