Alaska Airlines Pilot Interview:
The interview board consisted of two Capts and 1 HR. The three of them went out of their way to put me at ease. There was no unreasonable questions. Only five minutes of the 1 hour interview consisted of technical questions. What is Turb. penetration speed on your last aircraft. What are the differences between ALSF1 and ALSF2 lighting systems? What kind of airspace is around LAX? Can you intentionally fly a turbojet beneath Class B? What are your Cat1 mins?
The remaining 55 minutes they wanted you to tell them about your flying career; why you wanted Alaska and not the other guys; what kind of instructor pilot, captain, leader are you?; why did you get poor grades in college? Have you ever busted a checkride? Have you ever busted anyone giving a check?
At the end they wanted to find out how well you know Alaska. Can you name the pilot bases? Can you identify some of their stop in Mexico and Alaska? What do they fly and what are their lines in alaska?
Overall, Alaska Airlines is a class act, everyone over the two days was helpful and friendly. Good Luck.
