You start the day with an interview or 2 theory exams. I started with the interview, where i got asked questions from the chief pilot and a woman from human resources. Very relaxed, they asked me questions such as: Why do you want to become a pilot? Why LAN chile? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Is there a specific plane you would like to fly and why? Did you have any bad experience in the past? What is your best quality? What is your weakness? What have you heard about LAN chile? and then 2 technical questions such as: What would you do if you were on final and suddenly had an electrical fire in the cockpit? What would you do if you were cruising and noticed?that your captain was unconscious??

The interview lasted about 30 minutes, apparently it doesnt last more than that.

Then i had to do 2 theory exams, one IFR and the other ATP, the questions are the same in both the red IFR ASA book and green ATP ASA book. (60 questions each exam)

once you pass all this, 75% min, then they let you know the next day if you can carry on the process. Which the flight SIM is the next step. 1.30hr in a B737 SIM and you have to take off, catch a radial, do an Arc then catch another radial for VOR approach, go missed, HOLD, then come back for ILS and land.

Once that is successful, you have the last step which is an interview with psycologist, where you do a Rorschach test.

Bear in mind that you have to be fluent in spanish and obtain a Chilean first class medical.

If you have all the paper work done (ie; First class medical, ICAO english test min level 4, Log book, Licence), they will usually give you an interview within a week. Its pretty much whenever you feel ready. They are desperate for pilots, apparently they need 100 pilots a year.
