Omni Air International Pilot Interview:
Omni really counts on internal recs. My friend walked my stuff in to the fleet manager, and I emailed it as well. 2 or 3 days later I got a call for interview. They explain the interview is 90% complete by the time you get there, they call your previous employers and talk to your guy that is promoting your stuff. ANY negative feedback and they move on. When you get there they make you fill out an Application while you wait. I would recommend bringing a your ten year work history, and address history so you can fill out the application in its entirety right there. Mellisa from HR is a really nice gal, and she presents a video about the company and then talks about benefits. We simply had a conversation and the only 'Question' she asked was, "Do you have any HR Questions for me before we go meet with the Fleet manager?"
Met with Jim the DC-10 Fleet manager, he had an FE that was off line with a Broken Leg helping him interview. Conversational interview, but questions that came from the conversation were, "Tell me about yourself", Where do you see yourself in 10 years, why Omni, do you want to work for NWA or UAL, would you go back to your previous employer if they recalled you, Then briefed the sim ride, basically the job is yours when you arrive at the interview pending the sim evaluation unless you say something really wrong. Sim is a PCATD with MS Flight Sim 2004 as the data base. DC-9, LAX, ils 24R. T.O., radial outbound, 4,000', intercept radial inbound to Seal Beach, hold, teardrop entry, intercept feeder route on to localizer, IlS full stop. Sim ride is kind of a big deal. Offers the job after the sim ride, shake hands, and went to lunch with 3 guys in the office. seems like a neat company. Done by 3pm, made it home that night.
