Interview experience:

I have been to three other interviews, with offers, and this by far was the best experience for me. I arrived the day before on Northwest Airlines, space positive, which was good because both of my connections had people on standby and I had a seat. Express One provides information for the Radisson $55/night and they will pick you up at the airport and also take you to the interview and back to the airport. I had a room with a ceiling that leaked and woke me up at 12:30, lucky I had another bed in the room to move to, the Radisson was real good to me and gave me the room for free, which was fair. I read somewhere else where you need earplugs, the reason I found out is that at 3:45 am FedEx starts taking off one after the other it is beautiful, like a symphony, but does prohibit sleep for about an hour. At 8:00 I met some others in the lobby catching the shuttle to the interview. Once I got to the office there were eight of us interviewing, I had the lowest total time. Three guys had 121 experiences, the others 135. Once we got to the corporate head quarters we sat in the lobby for a couple of minutes and then we went to a conference room where we parked our belongings and were taken on a quick tour of the office, men’s room, coffee, it is nice space and everyone that worked there seemed really happy and upbeat, which is why I really like Express One. We were then given a company overview and an HR overview and given a 50 question multiply choice test over the Commercial Written, I forgot to ask my score. Some people finished paperwork and then we waited for our turn to interview. While we waited they fed us a very nice lunch. A Captain and an HR representative conducted the Interview. They asked very fair questions that we should all know at this point that I will not cover but they were very friendly and seemed very happy to meet and they were probably the most professional people that I have met in all my interviews. If they offer you a job they call you the next day and I was lucky enough to be offered an opportunity to fly for them. Training starts the next week, but usually it seems it starts about 2-3 weeks after the interview.

9. What is mach tuck?
As the aircraft reaches critical mach the nose of the aircraft tends to pitch downwards due to the flow of air over the wing reaching supersonic speeds producing additional life and center of pressure moving rearward. As the center of pressure moves rearward the elevators become less effective, pushing the aircraft into a potentially unrecoverable dive.
Mach tuck is the nose-down pitching movement an aircraft experiences as it passes its critical Mach number (Mcrt).
With increased speed and aft movement of the shock wave the center of pressure moves rearward creating a nose down tendency. If allowed to progress the elevator no longer has the authority to counteract this force and the aircraft will enter a steep sometimes unrecoverable dive.
10. Give an example of leadership?
An individual who steps up in time of need and selflessly makes a difference to others.
