FREE Airborne Express Pilot Interview Information and Gouge

Interview experience:
Interview: HR/2 Chief pilots (John, Mark) Tell me about Flight History? Why ABX? What would you bring to ABX? Argument on the flight deck? Is flying at night a problem? What history do you know about ABX? Have you applied anywhere else? Are you willing to be based in Osaka? What was your moving (in the car) violation? Have you ever had trouble in a checkride? How do you resolve arguments? Have you ever broken procedure? If you pass this portion you move on to the sim:(I think) Sim profile they use what is available I had the displeasure to have the DC8: It's good to know the callouts, configuration points, and airspeed. The DC8 is very sluggish and heavy(unassisted elevator) Brief T/O: Max Thrust RH 6000 In case of an emerg. bug Speeds T/O Runway Heading 6000: your controls (PNF) I have the Controls (PF) Set 80%N2 check engines then advance throttles to Max and call Set Max thrust(PF) 80kts(PNF) checks(PF) V1(PNF)Rotate (PNF) positive rate(PNF) gear up (PF) pitch 3 degrees per second up to 15 degrees for T/O 1000 feet(PNF) pitch over to 10 degrees nose up until V2+25 then call Flaps zero set climb thrust (PF) climb at 170 Kts until 3000' 3000'(PNF) lower nose to establish 1000' on the VSI and accelerate to 250 KTS S&L 250 Kts 80%N2 Steep turn L Steep turn R (in the steep Turn 85%N2 5 degrees nose up Do direct to Airbn NDB and hold on the SE 310 BEARING Right turns you will be in the NE quadrant since the radial you are holding on is the 130. (Brief holding speed at 6000' but you are operationally faster so brief that and tell ATC) Descend to 3000' Fly heading___ 15 DME Arc clockwise for the VOR 22R (not published) I chose to remain at 210KTS out of the hold because it gave me more time to think things through and also they want you to fly the arc 210-220KTS I lead the 90 degree turn to the Arc by 2.2 miles due to my speed on the arc At 30 degrees prior to the IB Flaps 12 slow to 180 Kts Lead radial=15/60=.25 miles per radial .25X8= 2miles so I lead the turn IB at about the 8 degree point rolled out with a small undershoot on final flaps 25 slow to 155kts 2 miles prior to FAF gear down once gear is down flaps 35 At the FAF throttles go to idle and pitch down for 1300 VSI Level off at MDA 90% N2 HAT/300 VDP was 2.5 NM Missed App: Set Max thrust(PF) flaps ??(PF) positve rate(PNF) gear up(PF Normal climb profile Missed approach is RH to 2500' RT to INT 250 Radial to Klerck Once you show you know how to get there he'll vector you to the ILS to 22R ILS: Flaps 12 on Base 200KTs flaps 23 on dog leg slow to 170 2 dot on final gear down 155Kts 1 Dot flaps 35 nose down 3 degrees to stay on glide path 85%N2 LAND or GA depending if you are safe He will be grading you the whole time. After the sim you might want to peek to see if you got the recommend or not. It's on the top right hand corner. Go to their own Urgent care and PEE in a cup Pretty brutal SIM
