FREE Aloha Airlines Pilot Interview Information and Gouge

Interview experience:
Aloha only interviews candidates with recommendations from within the company. They call to schedule the interview 2 weeks in advance and mail you the application which you are to complete and bring with you. The interview is with the Chief Pilot, VP of Flight Operations, and two Check Airmen. Questions included: Summarize your aviation background. What will you do if your Captain plans to go 50' below circling minimums in IMC during a circling approach? What will you do when he actually goes 50' below minimums in IMC? Name the biggest failure in your career and how you handled it. Describe how you handled a difficult pilot. What will you do when the majors start hiring again? How has your background prepared you to fly with our airline? What have you liked and disliked about your previous aircraft? Describe any violations, accidents or incidents (flying or driving). What flying have you done in the last six months? Anything you'd like to add or questions for us? The computer test had five parts: First, numbers are flashed with one number missing from a sequence. Identify the missing number. Second, numbers are flashed within a 3 X 3 tic-tac-toe grid. Recreate the entire grid. The third test combines the first two tests. Fourth is a logical sequence test using numbers. The final test involves colors (names of colors are written in various colored letters--you either identify the word or the color of the letters by selecting the appropriately labeled F key). The simulator was a Seminole flying out of Honolulu in zero visibility and zero ceiling conditions. They're only evaluating your crosscheck. They talk you through target power settings and airspeeds as well as telling you when to configure. Takeoff on Runway 4R, fly runway heading to 3,000' followed by vectors to intercept the 171 radial outbound from the Honolulu VOR. Proceed to Alana, one turn in holding as published, then intercept the 14 DME arc west. Finally you're given a vector to final for the ILS Runway 4R. You complete the approach to landing and stop in zero/zero conditions.
