Interview experience:
My interview started at 9. I arrived early. I was the only one being interviewed that day. The interview was broken up into three parts. The first part was an HR interview. This was with two of their HR people. Both were very nice. They told me about the company; company history, work schedule, pay, benefits,...etc. They were very nice, everyone I encountered during my interview were very professional and friendly. Then they answered a few questions I had. The second part was the technical interview. It was conducted by one of their captains. It covered IFR procedures, Jepp plates and charts, and some VFR rules. No trick questions. Even this part was relaxed. I felt like I was siting with a CFI buddy discussing IFR procedures, all you CFIs know what I am talking about. The last part was the sim check. It was in a Piper Arrow sim. I was given the app plate(Jepp) I was to fly during the check. It was an ILS with a VOR hold. I was given plenty of time to review the approach plate before the sim check started. I was also given 15 mins before the sim check so I could get a feel for how the sim flew. The approach started they said there was some wind but I couldn't tell. It was a straight forward ILS, nothing tricky. After I finished the sim check I was told I would get a call in a day or so letting me know if I had gotten the job. They called me a little over an hour after I left and gave me a training date. Everyone I met was very nice. The entire interview was very relaxed. Alpha seems like it is going to be a great company to work for. Everyone I have talked to that flies for Alpha loves it.
