FREE American Airlines Pilot Interview Information and Gouge

Interview experience:
-HR Lady - in a separate office goes over some paperwork and asks why do you want to fly for AA -go back to waiting room and wait -of the 8 of you, some people have interviews first, others do personality test first -the interview: -2 guys, they each give you their past and history, and then ask about yours -if you are 200 miles out @ 310, ATC wants 110 @ 40 DME, when do you start descent -at 2000 feet on localizer, 5 miles back, where do you expect glideslope to be -during walkaround before flight in icing conditions, what are you looking for? -asked if familiar with icing holdover charts -one big situational story, what would you do if: 1) First Class passenger is annoyed about the delay at the gate due to duty day crew change, FA won't serve drinks, the person then calls FA names, FA comes to you, Captain is not there yet, FA wants passenger kicked off aircraft, what do you do 2) As you are about to push back, Capt has just rushed on board, you smell alcohol (of course you question the Capt), the response the Capt gives: I was at a game and had alcohol spilled on me, that's why we can smell it, what do you do 3)Now on approach, thunderstorm 3-4 miles away, Capt is flying, what do you do Storm gets closer, you are now @ 600ft and wind is beyond limits, what do you do On your way to the alternate which is 20 min away, would you talk about it How would you bring it up when you do bring it up Are you going to formally let anyone know about this -what is the first thing you think of when you think of Delta? United? Us? -do you have any questions -anything else to add? The whole interview process was friendly, their theory is that they want you to relax so that they can get to know you. If they can't get to know you, you won't get the job. I did the medical a few weeks later. Quick note, the urine test is the first test they do, and you need to give more than for a standard medical since they need different samples (drugs, glucose, etc.) so drink a small bottle of water that morning. Don't go too crazy, some guys were ready to explode and you may have to wait 30-45 min. Medical consists of: urine test, hearing test, ear drum pressure, vision test, depth perception test, glaucoma test, chest X-ray, EKG, height and weight, blood test, cognitive test on the computer (you must pass this to pass your medical, no way to study for it, just have to answer questions as quick and as accurately as you can without making too many mistakes), and a visit with the doctor. Doctor doesn't do the rubber glove anymore.
