Interview experience:
I put in my application online and got the call a week later. There was a quick phone interview about my resume. Do I have a problem with a training contract? Do I have a problem loading bags etc. Next, I was invited to the interview in Dallas. They flew me out there on there dime put me up in the Idearc. It's kind of a weird hotel. The lobby is on the 3rd floor. Don't ask I didn't get it either. They have a free breakfast but I was so nervous I couldn't eat. You meet in the lobby with other interviewees. There were two furlouged corporate guys and one Southwest retiree (He missed the cutoff by 2 months) who was trying to get back to Southwest. Everyone was nice and talked on the way to training center. We signed in at the desk. This place is pretty top notch. Everyone meets in the classroom and we are briefed on the company. We are divided into two groups. One for the sim and one for the interview. We flew the Lear 45 sim. Be easy on the rudders IT IS VERY SENSITIVE. One of the other guys almost took it off the runway. The sim is straight forward no need to study power settings or anything. Take off, do a couple turns, level off and do the ILS. Then reposition and V1 cut. Make sure you pitch for the speed it is bugged on the V1 cut. Make sure you brief the approach. The instructor will try to talk to you while you are flying to see if you can multi-task. Next is the interview with either the director of training or the chief pilot w/ an HR person. Laid back, they ask you to take off your jacket. They look over resume and ask things like What do you if your captain throws the checklist in the back? What if an owner comes to the airplane and is angry and you just showed up. Things like that. Overall great experience, no trick questions, no technical, if they call for an interview they want to hire you. Seems like a nice place to work. They just got a nice pay raise that takes effect in March. Good luck.
