Interview experience:
I have to say it was the most relax and personal interview I have ever experienced. Unlike other airlines, GAC gives you a specific time to come. They said we don’t want you to have to wait the entire day. Interview time was at 2:45 pm. I arrived in Dulles about 45 minutes early and started my interview just after 2pm. It was with Matt Albers (Chief Pilot) and Keith (senior check airman). It’s a get to know you atmosphere. No technical stuff, just general question. Here is what I was asked: How did you get started in aviation? How would your family feel about being gone for 7 weeks of training? How about the 2 weeks on/off schedule? How does your family feel about that? What do you do in your spare time? Hobbies? Ever had any problems in training, or can we expect that you will have any problems if hired? Tell me about something unusual? I asked if they could be more specific and was told to talk about an emergency or something like that. I did have a medical and mechanical emergency recently which I talked about. That also answered the CRM question they wanted to ask. Do you have any FMS experience?
I was then asked if I would have any questions. I came up with some good ones. They really liked to talk about themselves. Make sure to tell them that you are not going to use them as a resume builder.
