Interview experience:

The previous info was very accurate and my JetBlue interview experience was very positive.
I traveled to the interview on JetBlue and stayed at the JFK Hampton Inn.  JetBlue has a shuttle that runs to Forest Hills at 7 AM and 8 AM.  My interview was scheduled for 10:30, but you are supposed to be there 90 minutes early.  I took the shuttle and got there about ½ hr early.  They immediately checked me in and offered to move me up to an earlier slot.  Antonio led us through the check in as well as fingerprinting and wiz quiz.  Then was brought to the classroom upstairs where my logbooks were collected and documents reviewed.  The VP of Flight Operations was there answering questions in an informal session while we waited for the formal interview.  The interview involved two parts.  First was an interview with a Pilot and HR person.  They were extremely friendly and anxious to establish a relaxing atmosphere.  After a brief introduction they went through a series of TMAAT questions.  The ones I recall included questions about Safety and Security, Technical Pilot skill, Quick Decision, Difficult person to deal with, What do you know about JB, JB Core Values, Demo of JB core value, Use of humor in a situation.  Nothing I was surprised by.  They were open to restating if needed or even giving a different question if you didn’t have a good example.  Went back to the bullpen and listened/asked a few questions – very informal environment while waiting for exit interview.  Exit interview was conducted by Director of Pilot Recruiting and a JB Captain.  Sort of an extension of primary interview, but asked about and “surprises” that might show up in background checks.  Told to expect a response about selection for Phase 1 in about a week and 8-10 weeks for subsequent background checks if selected.

Very low stress and relaxing interview.  They are selling JB and I was impressed, hopefully they were too.  Found I was selected to move from Phase I to Phase II.  Notification came via email in about 6 days.  Phase II (background checks) is supposed to take 8-10 weeks.

Jet Blue Sample Study Guide Questions:
1. Tell us some background information about yourself.
2. Give an example of when you had a conflict with a coworker who resisted your instructions and how you worked it out.
3. Tell when you used humor to diffuse a situation.
*Once at my fraternity one of my brothers was getting in a pretty loud argument with a random person at a party one night. The argument was over sports, so I split them up and sidetracked the argument by joking about how the argument was irrelevant because real men don't care about soccer and only argue about sports that matter like baseball and football.
4. Tell about a time you saw someone do something unsafe and how you handled it.
5. Tell about a time when you helped someone overcome a technical challenge in the aircraft (and describe the outcome).
6. What do you know about JetBlue?
7. Tell about a time you had to make a quick decision.
8. Tell me about a time you displayed one of JetBlue's values.
