FREE Kalitta Charters II Pilot Interview Information and Gouge

Interview experience:
You are required to get yourself to Detroit for the Interview. You will be picked up at DTW. The hotel is not provided, but the company can get you a room at the Red Roof Inn for $36/night.

The interview consists of a meeting with the chief pilot and director of training. It is very laid back and informal. They will tell you about the company and how it relates to the entire Kalitta family (Kalitta Air, Kalitta Charters, etc). I got a tour of the facilities in YIP both Kalitta Air and Charters. It seemed to me as if they were selling the company to me by telling me why it is a great place to work. They asked me to tell them about myself. I think they are more interested in the type of person you are. It is still a small company and they want to know you are someone they would like to fly with. A few CRM questions: “what would you do if…?” I was not asked any technical questions about the aircraft I was flying or the 727. Some of the other guys said they were asked some simple things: “What does it mean if the Rudder Load Limiter light comes on?” My best advice is to be yourself and relax. If you have the interview you more than likely already have the job. It seems to me that nearly everyone who is interviewed is hired.
