Interview experience:
Oman air is the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman. They fly the B737NG, ATR and soon the A330. Met the HR person and checkairman in the lobby. Simulator is in Dubai at Emirates Training Centre. No technical questions asked. Sim ride is about 1 hr per candidate. You will be briefed on the profile and will be asked to conform to your current SOP on the aircraft. They are only hiring current/qualified B737NG pilots on both seats. Dubai (DXB) 30R is the runway used.
There is a 10-12 kt X-wind the entire time. Normal T/O with radar vectors for ILS 30R. On the downwind all automation is off and you hand fly (raw data) ILS 30R to a landing. Takeoff with V1 cut. Radar vectors for LOC only 30R to a G/A. Another radar vector for ILS 30R to landing. Normal T/O or reposition to downwind for visual raw data for 30R. At the end you are informed of pass/fail.
Friendly folks. HR interview just reviews your experience, education and forms to fill. Only questions were why Oman Air? Will be handle living in the ME. After screening you will be sent a contract after 2-3 weeks once they have a class date. The contract is conditional on passing a medical and a psychometry test. Airline tickets to DXB are at your own expense. They will reimburse you if/when you get hired and join them. They pay for the hotel and transport plus breakfast.
