FREE Atlas Pilot Interview Information and Gouge

Interview experience:
The interview takes place in Miami and consists of 2 parts. Part one consists of filling out all the paperwork in advance as if you were already hired, then go in front of the interview board in a private room and answer general questions about, why you want to work here, ops knowledge, your background, why they should hire you, and some quiz questions. Everyone is extremely courteous and gives you the impression they want you to be there. Do not freeze up- they're not out to get you, just looking for professional and honest behavior. Its up to you to walk out of there with a good feeling, I did, and I didn't stay longer than 15 minutes. The 2nd part is the Sim session. You will be given a flight profile with poer settings and approach plates, SID's & STAR's for KMIA and fly the 747-200 sim for about 45 minutes for an evaluation from the left seat. You will have a right seater do what you ask for and to set what you cannot know since you have never been in this aircraft. They are looking for instrument skills, proper SID interception to plate a return to the airport via readar vectors, a holding entry and then a vector to an ILS landing under IFR conditions with a crosswind landing. All is at night and raw data. You will not have a flight director or the autopilot available so be sharp. They are looking for you to touchdown the 'Whale' withon the TDZ (1,000 feet from the numbers) do not get nervous. This is really not hard if you study the profile they give you and keep to those power settings you shine at the end. Do not flare too soon, just gently hold her off when you hear the 10 ft callout and you will be satisfied. Good Luck!
