The hotel is very good. Close to the airport and very close to all DC attractions (via the Metro subway). Very clean and great Sheraton beds! The hotel does not offer wireless internet but does have wired internet in the rooms, plus they have a business center near the restaurant. The hotel does initially charge you $9.95 for 24-hours of internet service, but when you check out, just take the paper with the charges on it to the front desk and they will take it off your account so the internet access is FREE. The hotel van runs to the Pentagon City Station/Mall/Airport every 30 minutes and on the hour, and runs back from those places every 15 and 45 minutes pass the hour. In other words, if you get to the airport something like 20 minutes pass the hour, you WILL wait until 45 minutes pass the hour before the van will pick you up at Door 5, and you still have to call them to pick you up. No big deal.

The hotel does have a very nice restaurant but it is very expensive even though we get a 20% discount (let's put it this way, a regular cheeseburger will cost you $13.95 before the discount!!). But you can take a ride over the Pentagon City Center Mall and eat there, they have tons of places at the mall and near the mall, or take the Metro over to the Crystal City stop where they have tons of restaurants and bars.

You can basically do anything. The hotel van runs to the Pentagon City Station/Mall/Airport every 30 minutes and on the hour, and runs back from those places every 15 and 45 minutes pass the hour. You can take the Metro subway from there to anywhere in DC and surrounding areas. The Air Force monument is right down the block from the hotel. Take a short train ride over to the National Mall and visit all the museums that DC has to offer. Or if you want to eat and go bar hopping, go to Crystal City. Almost all museums are free to get in. There is a lot to do here, you just have to be willing to walk a little or ride the train, but no big deal, it's worth it and pretty easy.

I start the rating at 5, then I add and subtract points with each comment good or bad comment. This hotel gets a 3.
+ Free internet, but it is deceiving because you have to "buy" the $9.95 day plan and then they take it off of the bill when you leave. Do no enter any credit card information.
- Van service was late picking us up because the van was full. It drove right by us and came back at least 30 minutes later. They knew we were coming and we were on time.
- Once on the layover, the hotel van is not very accommodating with only two destinations: DCA and the local shopping mall.
- Almost no food options at all. See below.

Go out the hotel's inner tunnel, turn right onto Columbia and walk for ten minutes. On the left near the Texaco station is a diner. It's pretty good but that is your only choice other than the hotel restaurant.
The hotel restaurant is expensive.

The hotel van only goes to the airport and the local shopping mall. The airport is at :00 and :30 and the mall is :15 and :45. If you want to go into the national mall area where all the tourist Washington DC sights are, you can either go from the airport at the metro stop there or you can walk all the way into the city like I did. Walk north from the hotel until you reach the US Marines security gate, then turn right. You will see the Pentagon and the southern perimeter wall of Arlington National Cemetery will be on you left. Just keep walking on the path by the highway and eventually (45 minutes time at my walking speed) you will get to the bridge where you have the Arlington National Cemetery entrance on the left and the bridge across the Potomac on the right. Arlington is a metro stop so if you are going somewhere really far east in the national mall it might save some energy taking the metro.
