Hotel is a clarion and is really nice. The van driver was a sweetheart. Van will give you a ride to downtown ,mall, movies, and other surrounding area stores and restaurants. Van runs until 10:30 pm Call with enough time as van is all over the place picking and dropping people off.
Places To Eat:
Tons of pizza and seafood restaurants downtown. Lots of shoppes and bars. mall has a Taco Bell,McDonald's,Sushi,Chinese,etc... chuck e cheese and brewery in mall parking lot. if you take van to movie theater there is a bar with food menu in lobby of movie theater.
Things To Do:
Downtown tons of bars, shoppes ,restaurants. Lots of fun and worth your time. More people in town on weekends.

This is no longer a Doubletree, and it shows. The rooms are no longer maintained as well although they are still clean. They also don't take us downtown anymore-you have to call a taxi. This went from one of the best overnights to among the worst.
Places To Eat:
Since they won't take you downtown anymore, there is just the greasy spoon across the street, or call Domino's.
Things To Do:
Take a taxi downtown where there are many things to do-shops, food, the waterfront, many bars,

Changed their name to Clarion and got rid of the cookies. One of the better overnights, too bad we'll lose it to Colganblow.
Places To Eat:
I'd take the van to downtown, short distance.
Things To Do:
The Old Port is the place to check out in Portland. Also, the Maine Mall offers shopping. I can see why they say that Maine is the way life should be.

Great overnight. Nice hotel, van will take you pretty much anywhere.
Places To Eat:
Go downtown, a lot of great places to get lobster and other sea fare right on the water!
Things To Do:
Downtown has a unique look and and plenty of things to do and places to drink. People are pretty friendly, just ask what you are looking for and they can send you in the right direction.

Decent Double Tree. Hotel van can take you to the waterfront area.
Places To Eat:
J's Oyster bar on the water. Great seafood. Kinda pricey, but worth every cent! Sebago Brewing Company for a few micro brew beverages. Try the beer samplers. Wings are also pretty good.
Things To Do:
Eat lobster, drink IPAs!

Cozy hotel. Very nice staff.
Places To Eat:
For the short overnight: There's an very very good place directly across the street (3 minutes away) that is a pizza/sub/general store. The 'loaded steak' calzone is first rate. The place closes at 9pm, opens really early in the morning.
Things To Do:
Walk downtown. Drink either: 1. Coffee 2. Beer 3. Both

Very nice overnight especially in the Summer. Hotel is ok but nothing special. Free cookies though.
Places To Eat:
Plenty of places to eat seafood and other establishments in the downtown area. Hotel will provide transportation both ways.
Things To Do:
Nice paved path to walk, rollerblade or bike along the Portland harbor. Stats in the downtown area and winds around the edge of the harbor. Hotel will pick you up and drop you off.
