Hotel Comments:
The rooms are alright, defiantly a step up from the normal holiday inn. Got to the room, no heat (-11 outside) and called down to see what the problem was. They told me maintenance was working on it, and it would be on soon. 45min later no heat, called them again it came on 30min after that. Heat died again about 2 AM.
Places To Eat:
Little Italian place down the street was great, bit expensive though.
Things To Do:
Drink and eat at the local bars.

Hotel Comments:
Nice hotel. Vending machines are pricey, and in Canadian, but the front desk will change money for you at a 1-1 rate right now.
Places To Eat:
Lots if you walk downtown.
Things To Do:
As mentioned, downtown is nearby (about 20 minute walk) and there is tons of stuff there. It has a small college town feel to it. There is plenty of shopping for people who enjoy that, as well as a library and a movie theater. Most of the restaurants have outdoor dining if the weather is nice (it was).

Hotel Comments:
Pretty nice hotel, especially for a Holiday Inn.
Places To Eat:
Place right across the street from the hotel called Diego's. For $10 you get some very good, relatively authentic Persian chicken and/or lamb kebabs, rice, salad, bread, and a drink.
Things To Do:
Don't know. Every time I've been there its been really cold.

Hotel Comments:
Halifax is a great overnight I'm surprised no one wrote anything about it. Hotel is generally nice. They just renovated the rooms. Not sure about internet in rooms, but there is a fee-based business center in the lobby.
Places To Eat:
Hotel restaurant is an option, but check out stuff around town. There is a chinese food place out the door of the hotel, around the corner and down the street. The hotel can direct you. There is also an Irish pub/restaurant by the waterfront that has an AWESOME seafood chowder. These are all walking distance, but kind of a far walk. The hotel front desk is very helpful with maps, etc...
Things To Do:
Waterfront, pool at hotel, casino (ask the hotel), museums.
