Interview Info   Study Guide   Sim / Scenario   All Companies

Submitted an online resume with no letters of recommendation and on the same day received an email to set up a phone screen. I set that up for a few days later, and during the phone screen (no questions asked, was just given information about the company), we set up an in person interview. There were no surprises in person. A group of about five were brought in to listen to a short presentation about the company. It was mostly information you will already know if you're doing your research. We were then each given an iPad to complete the online technical test. 30 questions, nothing out of the ordinary. Make sure you know holding speeds (3 questions on that). About 5 questions on a scenario regarding a flight plan they show you. Nothing you wouldn't know from flying an IFR cross country, but it does show Jepp plates so familiarize yourself with those. Tech test was much more casual than anticipated, no one oversaw us taking it and applicants may or may not have whispered questions and answers to each other. We'll call that using... 1. Mar 14, 2024 The entire experience was very professional. They flew me out to Seattle the day before the interview and I stayed at a hotel across the street from the Alaska Hub. There were 5 of us interviewing. The day started with a presentation about the company, compensation, and benefits. Then we surrendered our log books for a review by two chief pilots. The interview was with the two pilots and an HR person. The questions were very straightforward. They asked me to summarize my flying... Continue reading this interview experience

  2. Jan 31, 2024 All questions were HR style and TMAAT, (view the study guide of this website).  No technical questions. There were only two of us interviewing and we were both prior Horizon. Both of us were hired. Three interviewers: HR manager, Chief Pilot, Base... Continue reading this interview experience

  3. Nov 20, 2023 Extremely laid back. Met in the lobby at 10. Went upstairs and did an into to Horizon presentation. After that was individual logbook review. Then pulled in for the interview. 2 chief pilots and 1 hr. TMAAT questions mostly. They leave the room after and walked back in with an offer! They take into account years of 121 or qualifying time and already have class dates to chose from. After that, drug test, PRIA, picture taken. I had the offer and background check in my email before I got... Continue reading this interview experience

  4. May 23, 2023 Pilot Development Interview. This was a very straightforward interview. After we arrived we were brought to a conference room. We were given a 45 mins presentation on everything about Horizon. After that, we were given a 15 min break. They called us in one by one to interview. The interview questions were very straightforward. All HR questions, no technical questions. "Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond to help a customer" "Tell me about a time when you said... Continue reading this interview experience

  5. Apr 04, 2023 This was a very straight forward interview. The first interview was over the phone took about 20 minutes at most basically wanting to talk to you in person and they asked the same questions that were on the application online. Then the in-person interview, they asked some of the same questions from the phone interview then some HR questions about their "morals" ex. (view the study guide of this website).  I got a call a week later with the offer for the student development... Continue reading this interview experience

  6. This interview was for the Horizon Pilot Development Program. It was a behavioral based interview not technical. They will review your logbook, pilot certificate, medical, and passport. Bring your FCC radio permit if you have it as well, but it is not required. The interview was about 15 minutes and then the rest of the time was for me to ask... 7. Horizon pilot development program is all HR questions. 1 on 1. Be truthful. They want to see if you can interact with others at the interview and see how you get along with everyone. First part of the interview is them telling you what they offer. Second part is where they ask you questions to see if you’re a good... Continue reading this interview experience

  8. This is for the Pilot Development Program. First, I had a phone interview, then was offered from there to have an in-person interview at the Alaska Hub. A few weeks later, I flew to SEA for the interview and was brought to the HUB office. The interview consisted of a presentation and a Q&A then the interviews started. The interview consisted of A Chief Pilot and the program coordinator. They asked me to tell them about yourself from 0hrs of flight to now. As well as tell me about a time... 9. Incredible process. Everything was pretty quick from phone screening to getting the YES! Someone will reach out and set up a phone screening, pretty straight forward, they offer to fly you out (or commute if you are local) and an interview date is scheduled. I live in FL so they flew me in a day before and set up hotel accommodations. On interview day, the hotel shuttle will take you to the hub (which is so cool) and the fun starts with an iPad test. 30 questions MC / short answer which all... 10. Very similar to the gouges! The iPad quiz to start was lots of familiar questions from the study guide, with the addition of some basic aerodynamics (AOA, longitudinal stability, that sort of thing). I had a scenario on a flight from Eugene to Redmond with Jepp charts, and of course 4-5 questions on holding. I was local so the last one to interview, and I ended up waiting for a little over 3 hours in the waiting area for my turn. Pretty tiring, make sure you have something to keep you...
