Interview experience:

 Series of four interviews.

First interview is group. Aprox. 2200 applicants in December of 2011 for first interview. Height test is reaching up to touch the line on the wall with no shoes on. Group interview with aprox 15 others and a panel of 3.  Asked to answer 3 questions about self in 2 mins or less. Then asked to break into smaller groups and perform a skit. Instructions and props were given. Told to check emails within one week to see if invited back for 2nd interview. Interview times are chosen via a provided email link on their intranet. First come first serve for interview days and times.

Second interview is individual with a panel from HR of two persons. Asked  about how I meet the qualifications they are asking for. Told to check emails within two days to see if invited back for 3rd interview.

Third interview is actually a computer cognitive ability test. Aprox 50 questions in aprox 10 mins. Multiple choice. Many questions on the use of the english language, word understanding, sentence structure, reasoning, and simple math in story problem format. You are not able to tell if you answer any of the questions correctly. There is a small practice session in advance and the timing begins when you are finished with that. The computer times you. The questions stop appearing once your time has run out. You may be sitting next to one or two others. You have scratch paper and a pencil to use. You will most likely not finish all of the questions and they expect that. Told to watch email within two days to see if invited back for 4th interview.

Fourth interview is with two persons in executive management from Inflight services. This is the biggy. If you make it this far you have done well. Questions range. They will review your letters of recommendation that you have previously provided. They will ask for clarifications if they have need. You might answer what separates you from others who are interviewing for the same job, or what you think it takes to be a flight attendant, or what you think the greatest problems are for their airlines. Told to check emails within one week to see if invited back for the 6-week unpaid training session.

The entire process took one month, including the Christmas Holidays. The training began in January. Aprox 60 people made it into the training session from the original 2200 applicants. For those coming from out of state to Hawaii I would recommend they purchase an open ticket they can extend without penalty and look for inexpensive accommodations.
