At 9 am, one of the employees meet us and walked us up to a presentation room were they gave a run down of the company including benefits, culture, etc. Addionally, they will take your logbooks at this point to review while you are hearing the presentation. For the logbooks, they wanted all the checking events and endorsments tabbed ahead of time. For example, I put tabs for my Private, instrument, commerical, high performance endorsement, etc. After the presentation, they walk you into a lobby area and tell you to wait to be called for a one on one interview. Additionally, they will provide lunch, however, everyone was to nervous to eat till after the interview. The interview was conducted in the same room as the presentation and includes an HR representative and Chief pilot. There was no technical portion of the interview and just consisted of HR style questions. Be warned though, I was a HIGH TIME FO, so that might be the reason there was no technical. Study the HR questions and you should be great. Some good tips include know the core values of the company and use them in your answers. Also they are really big about diversity so they might ask "What does diversity mean to you?". I had some stories that included diversity in them so they skipped over this question but just be ready for it. After, they will...

Interviewed for experienced FO. Friendly & and proactive HR throughout. Worked with HR rep for about a year as I approached military retirement to line up availability and update currencies. Horizon was my #1 choice due to being Alaska Group (love the company) and basing in Anchorage is more likely. 1. The Gouge - Interview questions stayed in line with the HR questions on this site. No technicals, but it was for exp FO. Be ready with stories to answers those, I donâ??t think one word...

Pretty much like what everyone else said. Interviewed 4 others that day. Pretty relaxed interview, 1 HR and 1 base chief. The questions come from a printed form they have, and they take notes while you're responding. Probably 6 or so questions all TMAT. Some were: a time you stood up for someone else, made a safety stop, made a decision that was not popular, provided great customer...

Everyone was super friendly, stayed at the aloft hotel night prior. Walked over to the Alaska HQ for the interview in the morning, met recruiters and rest of the interviewers. We did a group PowerPoint going over the company, then one by one did our interviews. If you passed they would let you know after they would debrief, if passed you would go get your background check and drug test. Then afterwards you would fly back home. Great...

Gouge on this site was very accurate. First was phone interview where they just wanted to see if you'd be a good fit. Scheduled an interview a couple weeks later. 9 am interview at Alaska Hub, was a 2 block walk from hotel. There were 4 of us in the group. Taken upstairs and given 30 minutes presentation on Experienced First Officer position and Horizon. Then taken to lobby and one by one brought into interview room with 1 pilot and 1 HR rep, order was based on return flights. Each interview...

It was a good interview and laid back. I was asked to tell them about my self. A little chat about my flying experience and how I like my job/current employer. Tmaat questions followed. A challenge tmaat. A time I made a difference tmaat. A time I did something unpopular but for the right reason. A time I was creative to to solve a problem. They followed up with admin type questions and asked about check ride failure. Overall a good...

Interview was just like what everyone said for the Experience First officer position. Pretty much you need to sell yourself, you want them to buy what youâ??re selling, be authentic but also be the one you want them to hire. There were no technical questions, only TMAAT, TMAY questions. They are looking for someone who is ready to lead but also a team player who can make decisions and be open minded to different beliefs and cultural back ground. They are big on diversity and culture and a...

Interviewed for the Pilot development program. Very similar to other PDP interview experiences posted on here. One pilot reviewed my logbook while the HR guy asked me most of the questions. All HR questions. Used the study guide and felt very...

The experience was definitely aligned with previous posts so I'll offer a few other nuggets from my experience: hotel to interview is a very short walk, just keep in mind it's all uphill, nothing difficult but it was a warm morning and I worked up some sweat in my suit - the hotel shuttle can take you over if you'd prefer. Not a lot in the way of restaurants in the area so if you don't have transportation either plan on eating at the hotel or ordering. The process is very well run and...

My experience was just as it was laid out here on AviationInterviews. The interviewers were both very relaxed and it was not a stressful interview at all. I did not get the job offer. I live on the east coast and I donâ??t think they believed me when I said I would move back to the west. Iâ??ve been told they really want people who are going to live in...

The interview was in Seattle at the Alaska headquarters. The day started at 9 am with a presentation about Horizon and the benefits it offers. They then collect your document and move you to a waiting area, where you are pulled one by one to be interviewed. There were two interviews, one HR and one Chief Pilot. The interview lasted about 20 minutes, and they then stepped out of the room to deliberate and return to let you know if they were going to offer a CJO or not. They make you feel very...

  11. First hand interview reports were extremely helpful. The questions were a great way to organize your stories and responses.
