  • Read Page 1 ... describe "having the runway environment in sight", versus just saying that. In my defense, I had moved across the country to run a flight school as the sole CFI teaching only private students and unfortunately did not prepare exhaustively, which is my fault. Overall, I suppose I just didn't get a perfect score on the technical and perhaps the HR (they don't tell you) and there are enough applicants that got perfect scores that I just...

The whole interview was 20 minutes, which included introductions and just general info about how the interview would go. The HR portion was straightforward. I was asked how much flight time I have, when I expect to reach my minimums, 3 qualities of a good FO, why I want to be in aviation, and finally, why I want to work for Republic. The technical portion was given by a current FO, and she asked me to look over a METAR and TAF that she gave me from KDTW, as well as an ILS approach into...

Started off just a couple minutes behind schedule. Was sent the approach plate for KDTW ILS 21L just prior along with a METAR and TAF. HR questions were straightforward, asked a couple more situational questions, (view the study guide of this website).  This only lasted about 10 minutes then the FO came on to do the tech portion. Did not brief the approach myself, instead asked me questions. Finally was asked about induced drag, which I didn't answer correctly, the FO didn't correct me....

All the HR questions were straight from the study guide on this website. HR portion didn't take longer than 20 minutes. HR rep was super welcoming. Technical portion was more than simply decoding a METAR, TAF, and briefing a jep plate. Dove into some fairly basic IFR knowledge as well as flight planning (NWKRAFT). (view the study guide of this website). At the end of the interview I was given the opportunity to ask a few...

Questions from the study guide were very accurate, especially for the HR portion.  The Jeppesen Plate were The question they asked me and the one they seemed to place a lot of importance on was "when was a time you had a conflict with another...

I only had 15 minutes of HR and 15 minutes of technical. The HR questions were just about qualities that I possess and would benefit me as a FO. Other things about why Republic and why aviation. From the technical side all of my questions came from a METAR/TAF from KORD and ILS 28 at KORD. Briefing the plate, weather at a certain time from TAF and whether I'd need an alternate or not. Look at 121.651 I had multiple questions from that...

I had very little professional experience. Just like a check-ride I learned to be myself and come well prepared. The interview was short and sweet. A few HR questions followed by a short technical portion. If you know your stuff, the technical portion is pretty easy. I got asked a lot of runway lighting questions, but was prepared because of this...

Started with tell me about yourself, check ride failures, more HR related questions. Asked about check ride failures, what you learned from it. Then FO started with technical questions, Had to read JEPP chart, instrument questions, asked to explain one system on my aircraft (c172). If you get things wrong they immediately tell...

The interview was very much similar to the guides available on this site. Started with general HR questions regarding eligibility to work in the U.S., why Republic, etc. Asked a few questions regarding the company ie. what aircraft they fly, how many aircraft, bases, code share partners, etc. From there we moved into the technical portion. All of the questions were things seen on the guides on this site. Asked to read a metar and taf. Asked to brief the ILS 28C to KORD, as well as questions...

The interviewers joined right on time. There was an HR person and a captain from Republic. They started off by asking me a few very simple questions like what my total flight time was, if I could work in the United States, any FAA violations, etc. After that they asked me some TMAAT questions, list questions (strengths/weaknesses), and a hypothetical situation where a captain was not following SOPs. The HR portion lasted maybe 15 minutes and then we moved onto the technical portion. If you...

Follow the study guide and be strong with instrument knowledge. Approach plate knowledge is where about half of your technical questions will come from. Make sure you are comfortable with answering questions about each section of a Jeppesen...

The reviews were helpful and open-ended, which was good. They were specific and I wouldn’t have done well in the interview without it.
