Interview experience:

My first step was to access Delta website and retrieve their 1-877 number. I called the number and was asked a series of automated questions, for example: are you willing to relocate etc. after answering a series of question i was then given an interview date and about 1 week later, my confirmation arrived as well as my tickets to go to Atl to interview. One thing to Defenetely keep in mind is that Delta Airlines is a very conservative company, dress very professionally . All the applicants are to give a copy of their resume to the receptionist upon arrival at Delta HDQ,all applicants are then asked to go into a conference style room. A Human resource specialist gives an overview of the qualifications that they are looking for, they also tell you a little bit of info about Delta Airlines. There is a panel of about 7 other recruiters( some are FA's others are human resources specialists) every applicant is asked to come up to the front of the room, state their name, what their current position is, their education background, and finally why they are interested in the flight attendant position. They are looking for applicants that are very poised and friendly, this is your opportunity to sell yourself, do not be negative, be very positive and upbeat and do not appear nervous. After this you wait in the room and each applicant is called individually for a one on one interview. I made it a point to write down all of the names of the members of the panel, when i was called for the one-on-one i shook her hand and mentioned her name. During the one on one interview i was asked a series of questions for example: Why would you like to be a Delta Airlines Flight Attendant? never with answer " I love people and love to travel, instead think of one of your best assets and then find a way that it relates to the flight attendant position. What do you think is the primary responsibillity of a flight attendant? SAFETY! Safety!!! safety!!! followed closely by providing excellent customer service. How many days of work did you miss with your last employeer? the recruiter would like to hear a minimal amount. After the one on one the interviewer thanks you, and tells you that you will hear from them in aproximately 2-4 weeks. I received an acceptance letter exactly a week after the interview. Delta Airlines is a wonderful company to work for ,it really is a family environment and they truly care about their employees, i am very proud and feel very fortunate to be a flight attendant for DElta Airlines. Good luck.
