Interview experience:

The only advice I can give is to be prepared for anything.  I have read all of these and each one says to wear a suit, well the only girl that was offered training in our group wasn't wearing a suit.  The process is a bit and makes you feel like you are on American Idol or Miss America.  In the beginning they debunk any rumors about having fake applicants watching you, in fact they rather enjoy hearing the myths.   Imagine a room filled with 90 people all wanting to be flight attendants, you sit there eagerly waiting for the process to begin.  Then a recruiter will start a short presentation.  After that all the recruiters that were in the back of the room leave and return shortly to call names for individual interviews.  The first interview is short but fairly easy to pass as long as you prepare yourself using this site and practice your responses using the STAR method.  The interviewer is very friendly and smiling the entire time.  The interviewer will start by having you read a sample announcement aloud and then they begin with the questions.  Each question I was asked was on the study guide so I was well prepared and passed the first round.  You will know you got through because they hand you a slip of paper and ask you to read it quietly.  The paper is basically an invitation to return later in the day for the 2nd set of interviews.  They send you on the shuttle to either the airport or the Marriott, I recommend having lunch and gearing up for the next round because it is awful.  You are in the room again but this time only about 20 of you are left.  You just sit there and wait, finally at 10 minutes after the time on your paper the recruiter once again start calling names, the only difference is their demeanor has completely changed.  So begins the stress interview!  The recruiter seems to have no interest in you at all, they do not laugh or smile only stare at you and make you feel uncomfortable.  Well that is the whole point, this type of interviewing is to see how well you handle rapid changes in your work environment.  All these questions are about conflict and handling stress.  At the end of this interview I was sent home, he said, "we will call or email you within a week" at that point I knew I did NOT make it because there are 3 sets of interviews.  If you do make it they send you to another room where there are about 8-10 applicants left and you have a panel interview.  The panel has two people.  The worst part was that 30 minutes after they told me to go home I received my thanks but no thanks email.  It was quite an interesting experience and I know exactly where I went wrong.  Don't let the uncomfortable feeling sink in, remain calm and speak clearly above all give the STAR method answers when they ask for your situations, make them all about customer service, be well rehearsed, be friendly and be yourself.  Good Luck to you all!
