Interview Experiences From Envoy Air Pilot Interviews :

  1. 1.  (Nov 13, 2024) I got there at 7 AM. Just me and one other applicant. We talked to each other for a few minutes and then a woman from HR came and got us and we did paperwork. I’m pretty sure they are testing you whether you brought copies of everything, because my folder was missing five or so items. I had copies of everything and she really seemed to like that. Once we got everything sorted out, the captain who was doing the interview came in and did a presentation of the company. He was really cool... Continue reading this interview experience..

  2. 2.  (Oct 16, 2024) You start the day leaving the hotel at 6:20, so you get to HQ pretty early. You have to wait for a bit, but it’s a good time to get to know your fellow candidates. There were four of us, 2 cadets and 2 FOs. They started by collecting our documents and having us complete some paperwork. While they reviewed all documents and paperwork we ate breakfast and spent some time studying as a group and bouncing questions off each other. They took us out one by one for the interviews which... 6. 6. (Mar 16, 2025) What will be the hardest part about training?
    • I don't look at training as havng any paricularlyhard part as long as you prepare and are attentative durng training.
    • The pace of training at times intimidates me a little, however, I've come from a 141 environment so I am used to deadlines. Material-wise, I'm so ready to start learning. Pressure makes diamonds, and we love diamonds.
  7. 7. (May 19, 2025) Decode a METAR and TAF
    • They asked me about FZRA on a TAF and If we could land at the airport at a certain time based on the tempo weather.
    • This is one of the first things they ask, know the abbreviations! They look for you to know this. Know Snow “SN” , Rain “RA”, Mist “BR”, Fog “FG” and Maintenance Required “$”.

  9. 9. (May 22, 2025) How do you define professionalism?
    • Professionalism is the act of being able to accomplish any task assigned in a manner consistent with the minimum standards set.
    • Attitude and Competence
    • Hard work, dedication, and a leader.
    • Conducting oneself with responsibility, integrity, accountability, and excellence.
    • According to the US Dept. of Labor: "Professionalism is a combination of qualities. An employee arrives on time to work, manages time affectively, take responsibility for their own behavior and works effectively with others. Honesty, effective communication and integrity are a part of the package. Professional employees look clean and neat and dress appropriately for the job."
    • I remember talking to a fighter pilot who served in a guard unit that I once was interested in. I'll never forget our conversation back when I was 15 years old. We were talking about joining the unit and my professional development as I was entering high school and looking for a flight school. I remember he told me their company jargon, and of those core values the most important to me were integrity, humility, approachability, and excellence. Most anyone can become a pilot but a professional pilot is one who owns their mistakes, has the humility to learn from them, is willing to share their experience with others, and most of all, doesn't settle for mediocre.
