After the oral we hopped in the SIM. Redbird simulator set up with G1000 with autopilot. There's no flight director on this SIM. He wanted a 172 but with the G1000 panel it will only run as a 182. But he still used the throttle quadrant of a 172 (no prop control). So there is a reading on the display indicating manifold pressure but you don't need to adjust it.
