We've Aviation Professionals Prepare for their Interviews!

These study guide questions were submitted by real pilots who actually interviewed with Freight Runners Express

  1. Did you choose to take the position?
  2. What do you know about the company?
    Has 25 airplanes
  3. Tell me about yourself?
I grew up in Wisconsin and raced go-karts for 12 years with my twin brother. I learned a lot of mechanical and technical skills wrenching on go-karts. I also enjoy building computers. I started flying in 2019 in J3 cubs and finished my training in 2023. I've flown for skydiving companies across the country and a banner tow company currently.
  4. Will you be willing to move?
  5. Are you okay with getting a call at 2am and showing up to work at 3am?
  6. Tell me your strengths.
I believe I'm analytical of situations and am able to make sound decisions while flying. I understand that some events or scenarios while flying can be contrary to safety, while some also don't require the mission to be terminated. Common sense is my guiding principle.
  7. Tell me your weaknesses.
  8. Have you ever had a In Flight emergency?
My pitot tube was found to be clogged after takeoff flying skydivers. The airspeed indicator would only go to about 45 MPH. I realized it was safer to continue the take-off and remain in the pattern for a safe landing. I understood the handling off the airplane well enough to fly without this instrument. I believed I could've smoked brakes, flat-spotted the tires, or go off the end of the runway if I attempted to abort from a short runway.
  9. Can you explain your landing gear system?
  10. Can you explain your electrical system?
  11. It was exactly what I expected, I had a successful interview.
