Everybody at AA was very pleasant and professional throughout the experience. There is a HR phone screen, an in person panel interview and a sim eval. The HR phone screen is just general tell me about yourself, total time, why you like advanced, air etc. After that phone call, there is an online test that is very long and you probably won't be able to finish. Overall a great application process. Everyone involved from Advanced Airlines was very helpful and provided a lot of good info about the company along the way. To help prepare, make sure to rehearse and practice answers to various TMAAT questions (When you struggled with a student or co-pilot, when you failed a checkride, etc.). Know how to brief an approach, both jeppesen and nos versions. They asked a lot of questions about the plate, not hard but a lot of questions. Like what the visibility required is, a couple different symbols. You will get asked to do some simple descent calcs.  Lots of scenario questions.  Lots of tell me about a time questions.  Make sure to bring all paperwork. Your path to the in-person interview may vary depending if someone walked in a resume, sent it to a chief pilot or sent it to HR. I applied and updated a few times. Made me feel very welcome! Interview was in Santa Monica, I had to pay for the flight and hotel. 5 total interview candidates. Interview was broken up into 3 sections. First was a power point presentation on the company. We were then taken into the lobby to fill out our PRIA forms.
