This interview was with Advanced Aviation in Hawthorne, CA to fly the PC-12. First interview was with the HR. Nice, easy to communicate with. It was a 30 minute interview asking about my experiences in flying and customer service, check ride failures, future...

Overall great experience for advanced air. Started off with HR questions and make sure to research company. Then technical which was mainly IFR regs no 135 questions. Technical portion was very similar to the written test you take for them and they just want to see your thought process. Asked about SID and STARS. Some jepp chart symbology and 91.175 have that down really well. If you donâ??t know something just be honest about it and they didnâ??t seem to care. A couple of scenarios as... -

It was purely CRM scenario based questions as far as "what would you do...". Study all of your weather theory & icing. Questions were also based on dealing with CA hazardous attitudes & customer relationships. Also know how to read a IAP Plate properly. They also want to see how you plan for cross... -

This is for Advanced Air. Started with a phone screen about 30 mins, a couple of HR questions. Next was an online test 70 questions 30 mins study IFR, Multi Engine, Commercial, and some HR. Next was a panel interview with a current captian, Multi engine questions, IFR 135 vs 91, and some HR(disagreement with a Captain, you have a grumpy FO). Next is a Sim redbird Cessna fly a couple approaches, small emergency. Last is a 30 min phone call with their chief pilot. Simple process but very... -

The interview I had with Andy was the initial phone screen, and it lasted around 30 minutes or slightly less. During the call, we went over some of the standard background and technical questions. I found that the study guide they provided ahead of time was very helpful, as the questions asked during the interview were closely aligned with the material in the guide. Andy was professional and conversational, and the flow of the interview felt straightforward and to the point. At the end of... -

This interview was with Advanced Aviation in Hawthorne, CA to fly the PC-12. First interview was with the HR. Nice, easy to communicate with. It was a 30 minute interview asking about my experiences in flying and customer service, check ride failures, future aviation goals, what plane do I want to fly and where would I want to be located with Advanced Air. Second interview was a 30 minute test. 63 multiple choice questions ranging from IFR approaches, regulations and weather. Nothing was...

The interview was with Southern Airways. The interview was short and sweet. There were a couple of questions that came out of FIA written. ( Lift/Drag Max was one answer) They offered me Surf Mobility upon successful (HR) interview with their management. I had previous experience with customers first-hand with my previous job. That went a long way. I was offered the job with Surf Air, but afterward was offered PIC in the Caravan. The need is in the Caravan at the moment. So I took that...

This review is for Advanced Air based in Hawthorne, CA - the entire process (4 out of 5 steps) took about six weeks. Everybody at AA was very pleasant and professional throughout the experience. The initial HR phone interview covered broad strokes; applicant background with some follow-up questions about education, work history and information about the company. After that was the online assessment - this is a timed test with mostly multiple choice questions, but also math, problem...

There is a HR phone screen, an in person panel interview and a sim eval. The HR phone screen is just general tell me about yourself, total time, why you like advanced, air etc. After that phone call, there is an online test that is very long and you probably won't be able to finish. The in person panel interview is with various pilots (lots of IFR stuff). The sim is in a redbird which is a G1000. Will do approaches, holds, checklists,...

Overall a great application process. Everyone involved from Advanced Airlines was very helpful and provided a lot of good info about the company along the way. To help prepare, make sure to rehearse and practice answers to various TMAAT questions (When you struggled with a student or co-pilot, when you failed a checkride, etc.). As for the panel interview and final interview with the Chief Pilot, make sure to study IFR regs for Part 91, as well as Chapter 5 of the...
