The interview started off with introductions. He was very chill and made the whole thing feel easy and like a conversation. He then asked the basic things he needed to, such as flight times in the last 30/60/90 days and 12 months. Then asked if I was willing to be on reserve and fly my assigned schedule. After those "gotta ask" questions we moved into HR. He asked "why did you choose SkyWest" and "Tell me a about time when you felt uncomfortable in an airplane." He asked what would be some of the biggest differences or changes at SkyWest compared to my current job. We then moved into the technical portion. He asked about "descend via the STAR" clearances and how to comply. He asked about holding speeds and speed limits in class E under the Bravo and...

The interview was about 2 1/2 hours in total. The interviewing pilot was a young FO and conducted all of the interview questions. Generally speaking none of the questions deviated from what I had seen so on AviationInterviews.com Key notes from the technical section: Know 91.175 It was a series of questions. Interviewer had me brief altitudes along STAR and also SIDs for Atlanta. Systems questions were high bypass engine and bleed air heavy. I was asked... -

When we started it kind of reminded me of the beginning of a checkride. He spent a long time talking about himself and his background at Skywest and making it a relaxed environment. He's worked for the company for over 27 years as a Captain. After this, he asked me about my background and how I got into aviation. Then we went through flight times. Total time, PIC, instrument, night, cross country, multi, last 30, last 90, last year... pretty much all of them. Just write down all of them, so... -

Interview started off open and relaxed. It was a great and fun experience. Current FO of about two years did my interview and she did a great job setting the scene. Let me know what would be entailed into the experience and what to expect. We started off with getting to know each other and talking about our backgrounds and how we got to where we are today. Not as much HR stuff as I expected, I tried to tie my initial conversations to why I wanna be at SkyWest and point out pros of the... -

The interview started out getting to know each other. We went over my logbook and verified/updated my hours along with my last 30/60/365 flight time. We then went into some questions about why I want to work at SkyWest, my current employment, and where I see myself in 5 years. I read a METAR and TAF and was asked if we needed an alternate and why. Make sure you practice reading these and be able to decipher even the smallest things like A02, the parts at the end with the exact temp... -

Super laid back environment. Started off introducing each other, going over hours (have them written down) and going over documents and any that may need to be updated. Asked me about myself and asked why SkyWest and what I thought my biggest struggle may be with training. Took a 5 min break and then went right into technical stuff. Swept wings, critical Mach, Mach tuck for aerodynamics. Hung and hot start, not much into the actual engine other than engine starting. Then asked me about... -

My SkyWest Interview Experience (May 2025) I interviewed with a retired Captain at SkyWest on May 14, 2025. This was my second go-around after a less successful interview in February 2024. This time, the tone was different—more conversational, less scripted. The interviewer took a mentorship-style approach. Kind of like flying right seat with a super chill captain. We started with the usual warm-up: He took a while to share his story and background with the SkyWest Team. He asked... -

Started off with an intro about myself and then we went into details about my qualification via flight hours. After that we entered the HR portion of the interview, I had two scenarios. The first was about alcohol on a crew member's breath, the second was about operating a flight while both lavatories were unservicable. From here we went into the technical portion of things. I was asked about what makes an engine critical, in addition to this I was asked to discuss the electrical system of... -

I’ll start by saying the interview was incredibly laid back and relaxed. I had a 9:00am interview time and logged in at about 8:45am and was brought in a few minutes later. My interviewer was such a nice and funny guy, we had just talked for the first 10 minutes about my life/his life and then as soon as 9:00am hit we started the interview. We went over the basics of the HR questions that you have already answered in your application followed by your last flight times in 30, 60, 90, a...
